FYI: My Tutorials Use Victoria 5 And It's Fast Grab 70%- Regardless, Sweet Deal!
Let me start off by saying I'm just a newbie too, but a very determined one- with a background as a training professional so I've decided to help those just starting out, and to document (from the beginning of rendering) what I'm learning.
Folks who are following the video tutorials should note that starting on Video 3 (publishing today) we will be doing the setup for our character, and I am using Victoria 5. Although I have Caitlyn (whom I adore) I am not using any of her morphs so that you don't have to buy a custom figure at this point. The reason I am mentioning this is because I give the settings in the videos and when we go to fit hair and clothes, etc you will be able to do exactly what I am doing. (Even if you don't get V5, the videos show you the basics of any concept we explore.)
So a very pleasant note-
http://www.daz3d.com/fast-grab-3d-models/victoria-5-pro-suite is 70% off, and for brand new folks who have just joined, this will give you a lot of bang for your buck.
Video 3 is how to dial up the morphs and create a custom body using V5, then Video 4 will be doing the face, then we'll be adding clothes, then posing, lighting basics, etc. Special thanks to all the CV's and other folks who are helping to make sure I get both the dialog and concepts right. These tutorials, if you have what I have, will yield finish products, and they will become more and more complicated as we progress. Enjoy the ride :) (Videos 1 and 2 linked in signature, keep in mind this is for very new folks, otherwise you'll be bored to tears.)
