Ah. Okay, my fears are dismissed...

I am glad! ;) So many possible terms for one and the same thing, Jade`s freshly introduced "Haze" isn`t bad either. Could have made a naming contest out of this.

Preview with moon attached for you, Lady Bree.

    Small news:
-Pluto got it`s 5-moons info updated for release (I am still embarrassed).
-Release is later than I had hoped, towards the end of the month.

    1986 ?
I think I had a C64 or Amiga around that time, and have been incredibly impressed with being able to draw a few pixels there ;)

Yes, but unlike Jupiter, all we can see of Venus (in visible light, anyway) are the upper cloud tops. We've never seen the surface, or even lower cloud levels, except from a lander's cameras.

I thought Jupiter didn't actually have a 'surface' being a gas giant and all... :?

NASA has actually been officially caught making conflicting reports concerning the condition of Jupiter. They landed something on it with a parachute. Forgetting that they had told us it was super hot and gaseous and we weren't supposed to think I guess. How can one land a parachute in such an environment?

Then there's the story about the people living there.

    Hmmm ....

Say Flipmode, have you considered adding a galaxy with "Nibiru" in it? Should help with sales for at least a year or two.
At least one Sun, one HUGE planet 5 x the size of Jupiter [or Earth depending upon whose report one is reading], and at least 4 "moons".
A couple of gas horns for the planet of course ... and a whole bunch of space rocks.
    Thank you.

edit to add: it's supposed to be in our galaxy now approaching via the Sun ... to orbit by from the South of Earth. I have absolutely no idea how to go about putting all the orbits together to make that look even plausible.

LOL!! They dropped a probe into the DEEP atmosphere (gas is an Atmosphere) that was crushed (think sub going too deep) by the pressure of the GAS as it para-shooted deeper. It stopped working so we do not know what is deeper than it went. It never stopped falling before it died.

Nibiru...tbh, never heard of it before you mentioned it. I couldn`t quite figure out what it is supposed to be, a single planet, a small galaxy drifting towards us?
Either way...as a model this would rather be a full fantasy set I guess, since there don`t seem to be any pictures.

On a sidenote...the set has all planets (incl. sun & moon) as seperate preloads (and even an rather ugly asteroid). So if you want to add something extra it should be possible. The orbits are a seperate preload as well (all orbits in one preload, but individually hideable), so in theory adding a collision orbit is possible. But like you said...that`d be one huge orbit ;)

Never heard of it, ha! Okay ... I don't think anybody has quite figured out what it all really is or isn't either, so yes it does leave lots of room for fantasy. Google Images here
... huge orbit ... oh dear, uh, no, think I'd be quite happy with just the part that loops through ours lol ... 36,000 years or whatever it is would be too large for my computer.

Okay if I can work with theories ... have some $ waiting ;-)

    ...............................

little OT ... remember back some when we were all noobies to computers ... well for me it wasn't all that long ago. XP was my first computer. I soon discovered how to save files from the internet ... and that if it wasn't possible, well XP simply wouldn't start the download.
Then one day I discovered the NASA website --- the one with the live feed on the Sun.

You see this coming don't you?!

    Yup.

I asked XP to download a live feed.

    Poor computer.

It tried ... impossible task but it was going to die trying.

Thankfully I read over the page a little more closer and cancelled the request before the computer burned out.

Thank you Jaderail. I know what atmosphere and gases are. I also know that the one I'm referring to "soft-landed". It was one of the first reports. First reports on many things tend to be 'revised' by the next telecast. As to which reports are correct ... well who knows eh.
What I'd love to do is have all those guys making their reports through lie detector tests.

Are you sure you don't mean the Huygens probe, which soft-landed on a parachute and sent back pictures and other data... from the surface of Titan, the small rocky moon of Saturn?

There has only ever been one spacecraft from Earth that actually entered Jupiter's atmosphere.. well, one-and-a-bit. The Galileo probe to Jupiter carried a small atmospheric probe which was dropped into the atmosphere on a parachute and sent data back for an hour or so; and Galileo itself was sent into a controlled atmosphere entry after its mission was over. Both probes disintegrated, then melted, then vaporised, long before they could have reached the small solid core that's probably in the middle of Jupiter. We can actually see several layers deep into Jupiter's atmosphere, but that's only a small fraction of the depth of the actual solid surface.

It was something sent to Jupiter. Long time ago. I don't remember the name but/if when I find mention of it somewhere that is safe to send a link back from, I might do that. I have a vague recollection of where I might find a reference to it ... if time permits and the film is still up I'll post back. AFAIK there were no pictures sent back, so either yes it was either ultimately destroyed or they were not published.

A few years back we had a UFO crash in the Valley. All night long the 2 air forces COMBED TO DEATH the entire area so that come morning, nobody else could find anything. Most people have no idea how close we all came to being obliterated that month. There are a few pics here and there that were published in the mass media. And as my eyes swell just thinking about that night ... think I'll move on now and cook supper and wish NASA would stop sending anything to land on other planets. Galactically, it's considered an act of war. One which, well ...

Anyway, if a nice galaxy orbit set is released, that would be great.
I think I can model a sphere with horns ;-)

Sorry, long time no update on this...well, tbh. there wasn`t anything new to report.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a heads-up, to my best knowledge the set is supposed to release tomorrow (29th).

The info page is up in case you want to read into all the details.

I want to thank you Flipmode for an awesome job on this product.
I am a real amateur using these files but have managed to get the results I wanted.
I have had mixed results using these files in Vue Infinite but to be able to do so would have been extra gravy.
    Thanks for your effort.

Wow. What a set! Just got it last night and am playing around with it.

How do I get the aniBlocks working? I am new to Daz and haven't dabbled much in aniBlocks yet.

    Glad you like the set!

To use the aniBlocks first make sure you have the timeline/aniMate tab open. Usually it`s minimized at the bottom of Daz Studio.
If you can`t find it there go to the top menu > window > tabs>aniMate.
With the solar system selected you should find the related aniBlocks there. You can drag&drop; them into the FMSolarSystem animation line (or drag&drop; the thumbnails under smart content/ animations).
With the aniBlock selected in aniMate you can adjust the playback speed by setting a % value for the block.

Thanks for getting back to me. The reason I had asked was something didn't seem to be working. It seems that it is possibly a problem with Daz3D.

Something is odd with my animate window.

When I created the project, the aniblocks showed up, then when I tried to use the window, the list of selectable items disappeared and I could not drag and drop to the timeline. Now this is the case every time, even with other characters that had worked before.

    Edit:

Restarted my Mac and tried again. Came up right and I got the aniblock added to the Sun Group. Nothing moved, so I went to check the list and tried expanding it so I could see the full list. Boom; everything disappeared again.

    Bug in Daz3D on Mac?

    Hello,

I just tried on Mac OS X 10.8 using DS 4.6.1 and it works.
    Is your Animate registrated?

I must apologize... Was trying to use the aniblock with the other solar system set.

Things are working well now with the solar system. Wow. That is what I wanted to see. Will use it today for a short movie!

Something is still funky with Daz, though, but that is not for this thread. I'm on Mavericks 10.9.
