Modeling cloth for DAZ not in T-pose?

Hi guys! I am new in Daz and I am wondering can I model own clothes for basic Genesis model not in standard T-pose, but with hands puted down on 45 degrees and then fit it on the model fast? Or I should import only T-pose mesh in program to have chance to fit it?

I mean for me would be easyer to work with this pose. But would it be possible to fit sleeves after I import it back to DS?

  • Genesis 8 does in fact use an A pose. For older figures you can use an A pose, but it adds extra steps - you have to set the pose, making a note of the rotations, then use the Bake Joint Rotations command (Joint Editor tool option menu) to make that the "zero pose", export your model to make the clothing around, bring the clothing in and rig it as usual with the Transfer Utility (using the baked A pose), then you need to reverse the pose on the rigged clothing (so it is in the T pose of the default figure) and Bake Joint Rotations on that so it works with the base figure (at which point you can set up the JCMs and so on). So yes, it can be done, but the extra steps may balance any saving in modelling time.
