Please do :) also, I tried to go through script but it didn't work from there either, not for me atleast. In the smart content pane it doesn't even show up in that area called script. I did find it when going to content library - daz connect - scripts.... and so on, but got the error message from there as well.

Hopefully they fix it soon :)

yes, there I found it too, when browsing through content library. I think there is something corrupt or bronen in the Smart Content package. I do not know for sure, but I guess it is two different packages, one for DIM and one for smart connect that are provided. I compared the contents, the file sizes and dates are the same, so I wonder why thy do not appear.

Well, we will see, I am sure they will be able to fix that. They just confirmed my report and they will take care of it :)

Thank you guys for letting us know about this issue.

If you install via DIM, it'll still show in your Smart Content as installed, it'll just have that little icon up the top right that signifies an update. You just gotta remember NOT to install the update via smart content LOL

I installed only through smart content, as that is the only thing I use these days. And it can't be used from there it seems, I'm about to send in a ticket to support, as I believe they are the ones the fix the smart content things and question why it doesn't work, since they should have known it didn't if it had been tested (least that is my thoughts).

Since I only use Smart Content and didn't install anything through DIM, that directory doesn't exist on my system. Which might be the problem, and I admit I don't want to install through DIM as I prefer to have one place to find the content (that I buy from DAZ, contents from other stores are in the content library as usual)

Thanks Riversoft Art and SF Design - confirmed that the script now works correctly if installed via DIM. It doesn't work with downloading via connect/smart content tho. The file path it's looking in is the same except with smart content it's got data -> cloud -> [product sku number] in front of it which may be why it doesn't work.

My installation paths are all correct and everything else d/l with smart content works fine, so it wasn't my installation paths that were the problem. QA should have picked up on that, and fixed it. I think it's plug ins that should be installed manually/DIM and not Smart Content, but I do have other scripts that were installed via connect and they work fine, so it's not scripts that can't be installed that way.

    You are welcome :)

Ah ok, yes, that makes sense, I think that there is something wrong with the update file then for Daz Connect maybe, when you install it with DIM and then the update with Smart Content and that breaks it.
We updated the product some weeks ago, think that was the reason then, because before that it seemed to work fine for all installation methods.
When you use DIM and there is an update the old product gets removed completely and then installed again.

I assume there is a problem because we changed script file names with the last update and the DJL script links too. Seems that Smart Connect updates work a bit different than DIM. I do not know the technical process unfortunately.

Our other scripted products from that Skin Doctor series seem to work fine as well with Smart Connect, never heard from users about that issue so far at least.

But I am pretty sure that the Daz people are able to locate the issue and fix it.

    Cheers

hmm.. what I am wondering too, when you install a product using DIM and later the update with Smart Connect, do you have it in both folders then?
My Daz Connect folder (content library pane) is empty usually.

and something is different here for me too, only 8 product appear to be "installed" in smart content although DIM tells me that over 1000 are installed lol

maybe me Database is corrupt or something, but that did not change after I cleared the whole database. In my Daz Connect cloud folder there is the meta data for all installed products.

Don't think that is the issue, not exactly atleast. Since I never installed it via DIM at all, only through smart content/daz connect. And I bought it yesterday, so no updates or anything showed for me (i assumed it was the latest version so to say). Something has certainly broken with the Daz Connect path/installation, but what that is *shrugs* As you said though, hopefully they fix it fast. And while the script itself don't work, the material thingies/shells works just fine :)

oh ok, yes, when you just bought it yesterday this was indeed the most recent version with all the updates already included. The update is about 5 weeks ago or something.
But I am wondering why not others had that issue, maybe it worked for others or most buyers used DIM *shrugs*
Maybe some contacted Daz support already about this, we usually do not get information, they just handle it, and contact us only when they have a question etc.
Well at least the normal presets do work :) btw, if you have another skin doctor product for the famels maybe you can use that editor for Dirt and Grime too.

I've considered this but it seems to be specific to female characters. Is there any chance it may also work for male characters?

The shells works on males too, I've used them on both male and female. Can't say about the script as I'm still deciding what to do as the response I got regarding the ticket straight out told I had to install it through DIM as scripts don't always work right with daz connect... let's say I was unhappy with that response and let them know that :)

However, the shells and such do work with both genders :)

Oh ok, I have not heard back from them yet. So it seems that this is a known issue about scripts, sometimes not working correctly when installing them with DC.
But I think it is not a general problem, only in some cases? I cannot imagine that you and jakiblue were the only ones who used DC to install it.

Yes, the shells can be applied to G8Males too, the script is coded for G8Females only though. When you run it, and have male SD products (like wet skin) installed as well, you get the options for those.
When you add to males there might be adjustments needed (depending on the shell) since the UVs are similar but bot the same, regarding the position.
There is also manual adjustment needed when you are using the G8M genital, this is not supported by the female shells and needs to be hidden manually since they have been created on the G8F figure. Also the shell offset needs to be adjusted manually maybe when you use more than one shell, this is something what the scripts handles automatically to avoid intersections.

But in general, as Carola O said, they can be applied to male based characters as well.

@riversoftart, I'm a little late to this thread. :-), but while looking thru my wishlist and yes this product is on that list. Have you thought about an addin to this product? For example, beach sand for people that lay in the sand, walk in the sand and that sand should stick on skin just like the beach, with some morfs showing brushing off the sand. Just a thought.
