Creating my own morphs

With Gen4 figures, I could create morphs on a given area like the neck or chest using dformer. When I try to apply dformer to genesis 3, it only works if I pick the whole figure. If I want to create my own dform morphs on the figure, do I have to select the whole figure? If I want to create a morph and save it, is the dform the way to go? It worked pretty well in DS3 with the Gen4 figures, but I am wondering if there are other options now?

You can still use dforms. But I find it's better to use them to create the shape you want and then create a real morph from that.

So assuming you have a dform and you have the shape you want, export the figure as an .obj using the base resolution and subdivision level of 1. Then turn off your dmorph. Next, use Morph Loader Pro to create your morph with the obj you just exported (use reverse deformation to Yes if you have other morphs enabled). Save the morph as a morph asset. Done.

What a super tip! I've been messing around using Blender to create morphs, and you never exactly know what the end result will be when you load it into DS. But with your technique using the d-former, we can work backward: start by making the good end result inside DS, then create the morph from there.

You can convert the d-former to morph from the d-form pane, no need to bother with exporting and morph loader.

Yes, when you make a dformer it applys to the whole figure. But you can change the area dformer influences with changing the position and size of the dformer field so it doesnt matter that whole figure is selected.
