Luxus in the surfaces tab

When I first installed Luxus, the surfaces tab would show only the material type I chose. For example, glossy translucent only showed dials for glossy translucent. Since that first day, however, I get all of the lux materials listed, even though I didn't choose "all with switcher." I tried the checkbox that says show sub-items, I made sure show hidden properties is not on. There are so many entries that it to a pain to scroll through them. Right now I am using the filter to show what I want, but it is limited. If I filter by "Lux", I still get the long list because they all contain the word Lux. If I just filter by "glossy" then I don't get my volume or mesh settings.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Go to the luxrender material options and then choose 'Remove Luxrender properties'. You can then put only the one you wanted onto the surface.

I have done that, but they all still show up. Granted, they are grayed out, but they are still there. Can't hide them, either.

If they're listed but greyed out it means you're still showing the hidden properties. By default, Luxus does add ALL of the materials but hides the ones you don't require. Double check you haven't still got that option ticked. If that's still not working for you, then the easiest way to deal with it is to expand the Luxrender material and click on the specific category you want (for example, glossytranslucent) so that the surface tab only displays the options which are needed. Mesh holds information for displacement, normals and bump maps, as well as subdivision and volume is all for the volumes for things like subsurface scatter.

    Hope that helps.

I appreciate your suggestions, but in my original post and my recent one, you can see that I already tried that option. I have attached a screenshot. You can see that "show hidden" is not selected. My material is glossy translucent, but all of the carpaint options are visible. And, believe me, so are all of the other material properties (glass, glass2, etc).

Originally, I was able to click on the LuxRender group under the SkinHip (or whatever part) and it would only show the properties for opacity, glossy-translucent, volume (if applicable), and mesh (for bumps and displacement).

Everything you are saying is correct and info that I am already aware of, but I can't seem to get it to work properly. Next step, I guess, is to reinstall the plug-in. Maybe that will reset it.

Hmm... this is weird. Right after I posted that screenshot I decided to try clicking "Show Hidden Properties" with the intention of turning it on then back off, to see if that might reset something. What happened was that "Show Hidden" actually hid the LuxRender properties instead of showing them, and vice versa.

A code glitch with the plug-in, perhaps? Anyway, I got the solution I wanted, so I am happy. Same thing happens with Lights, by the way. The biggest problem with that is that if you "Show Hidden Properties" in the parameters tab in order to hide unwanted LuxLight settings, you end up "showing" all other hidden properties for objects in the scene. Seems kind of counter-intuitive.

Definitely sounds like a bug to me. I'd ensure you're running the latest version of the plugin by resetting your downloads and grabbing the installer again. If that doesn't fix the issue, submit a bug report. Though to me it sounds like like a Daz Studio issue rather than an issue with the plugin itself, since DS is the one responsible for hiding or showing parameters.
