How do I get Dforce Trumpet to conform to the character?

I've loaded up my Dforce Trumpet dress onto my G8 character but then I pose the character the legs are outside of the dress.. so I look for the conforming parameters and there are none?  How do I fix it so the dress covers her legs?image

It is dynamic, not conforming.  It says on the product page

So how come its not being "dynamic"? and how do I get it to fit?

When you get to the point of draping, you'll probably want to start the drape on that one from the Memorized Pose "On" setting. The dress should follow the legs from there.

OK.. Now where is the part that tells me how to get this dress to cover her legs in plain and simple English without having to read the all the stereo instructions?image

I have very limited dForce use, but this should get started.

    1. Add the "Simulation Settings" pane to your workspace if you haven't done so. Windows>Pane (tabs)>Simulations Settings.
    2. Load Genesis 8 Female and load the Trumpet Dress on her.
    3. Apply a pose if you want
    4. On the Simulation Settings pane, click on the Simulate button located above the Clear button and let dForce do it's thing.

Edit: Added pic of the Simulation Settings Pane options were you can add dForce modifier to non-dForce ready clothing.

I'm not trying to do animation and that girl talked so fast she didn't explain anything... Where is the part where she describes making the dress act dynamic and cover the character already or why can't you just tell me how?  Is it that difficult to describe?

When I click on "simulate" it says, "cannot find a valid OpenCL device"....

  • Does Edit>Figure>Restore>Restore Figure Pose put the figure back to it's zero pose? If so, undo that and then go to the Simulation settings pane. make sure that the option to start from the Memorised pose is on and click the Simulate button at top-right.

Yes, it does make it go back to zero.  Where do I find this "option to start from a memorised pose" to turn it on?  When I click on "simulate" it says "cannot find a valid OpenCL device"..  I have a Nvidea GeForce 750 graphic card.. don't think thats an issue..

    another video

  • Which driver? People have reproted that something88, the latest version, is not giving OpenCL support but rolling back a version does - I have been using a 750Ti, with a driver a couple of months old.

The start from memorised pose button is on by default - it should show in Simulation Settings with the All or Simulation groups selected.

And from the Start Here dForce writeup - you may want (or need) to download the cpu runtime.

Are there any dependencies that I need to be aware of?

Yes, there is. The dForce engine utilizes OpenCL 1.2 to perform simulations. If you do not have a driver already installed that supports at least OpenCL 1.2, you will need to install one. The more recent driver packages from NVIDIA and AMD typically include a suitable driver. In the case of older cards (e.g., GTS 250), the NVIDIA drivers do not support OpenCL 1.2 and so the driver for the CPU must be installed:

    Intel GPU/CPU Driver Packages

    Intel CPU-only Runtime Packages

You may want to install the CPU driver anyway if you want/need to be able to use your CPU for running simulations.

  • I've got a NVIDIA GeForce 970 card (I7 intel), and I also have to have an Open CL driver. The one I ended up with says opencl_runtime_16.11_x64_setup.msi. I got it from the Windows Graphics Drivers link posted above. When you find one that works, save it some place because Windows updates seem to break it and I've had to reinstall it more than once.

That woul;d be the CPU driver, your GPU should work with the nVidia driver - though, as noted above, people have reproted problems with the current driver from nVidia.

    GRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............

OK.. now you say that...  So I just got done updating to 'the latest Nvidea driver for the GeForce 750 from the manufacturers page and now everytime I click "simulate" after dressing and setting up a pose.. it crashes about half way into the process.. Not the whole computer... Just Daz studio...  Hmmmmm

So... do I just give up on 'dforce' and ask for a refund?

I'm sure there will be anewer still nVidia driver before the 30 day refund window closes, if you don't want to try rolling back to an earlier driver. Or ypou could try using the Intel CPU driver instead - linked from the Start Here thread - and see if that works (once the driver is isntalled select it from the Advanced tab of Simulation Settings)..

After a lot of winjing and crying for hours... cursing at the moon and damning those big corporations for forcing me to update all my Intel and GeForce drivers.. I updated all of these and low and behold ...  it worked... granted this is got to be the worse render ever done... but I was just half expecting it to crash anyways... so I guess I have to be over the moon that my computer is up to date and everything is working...image

    Thanks for the patience...

Now what I'm getting is "Nvidea Kernel node 880" is crashing just before the 4 minute process of "simulating" completes so you can imagine just how much fun that is...   I got it to work once somehow... but ever since then its been crashing a different way... Stilll not any fun.

and that's using the CPU and with the trumpet Dress (or another bit of dFoirce Compliant clothing)?

At the moment I'm trying the "Summer Angel G8" dress and it keeps saying the "330 Kernel" has stopped and recovered.. right when its before its finishing... something tells me your going to have a nother problem for me...

  • If it's doing that starting from the zero pose please bug report it.

I swear to ^Q$@ Your program is trying to drive me in insane.. Interesting that last night I tried to get that dress to work and the 'puter crashhed 5 times in a row... today.. I quickly loaded up a character but I didn't add a mat since I was expecting it to just crash again and I could describe the process in a bug report... and the F'n thing worked .. Oh my graphics card howled like a torchured monkey.. I'm like. there it goes.. but... no black screen of death.. and of course I got a perfectly nice render out of it that everybody loved..

I figured it must have been because I violated too many Terms of Services again in the forums that I better come and make amends... Anyways... You think it would help if I filed a 'needs drastic improvement' report?

Thank you to both of you for helping ... I just got done running the 'simulation' for the 3rd time without any problems... (although I'm afraid of doing more than one at a time so I might start thinking about composing single characters and then loading them into a final picture after the 'simulations' are done but I ended up going with the older version.. opencl_runtime_15.1_x64_setup.msi

I'm just posting it here in case anybody else has the same issues with the newer versions crashing DAZ... Now that it works better... I like my shiny new toy.
