As often, the answer is "it depends".

Items made specifically for use with dForce won't behave as regular conforming clothes in 4.9

Scripts I think require using at least the version of DS they were made in.

Other items not using any specific 4.10 features will probably work.

dForce compliant items, at least ones sold here, must also be conforming items, according to SickleYield and Mada.

    RANTS

    About VWD mostly

I'm a long time user of Poser (since P4). I finally quit to go to Daz studio, since the latest Genesis figures do not work in poser (there are probably very very good technical arguments about this).

There's no easy bridge between Vue and Daz. With poser, I had the opportunity to import easily figures to Eon software Vue (since version 4).
Each iteration of Daz Studio break the bridge with VWD,I suppose this french guy working alone must be a terrible competitor !

D-Force is certainly a very promising stuff, but as I grow old, it takes time for me to learn a new software ; and I like VWD, I also like Vue, even if the renderer shows it's age (like me...)

Every 2 years I'm supposed to buy the best of the bettest ever 3d figure, generally witout retro-compatibility. Being an old european, I tend to like aging things, it's called patina and this word is probably very unamerican.

I understand that there must be techonological progress under all these evolutions of Studio and Genesis,

but I'm not absolutely certain this is a viable economical scheme on the medium long term.

That certainly shouldn't happen - the minimum SDK version required has been constant at 4.5 for several years now so if the plug-in for the bridge uses documented SDK calls it should go on working.
