Update to 4.10....Is it working?

I installed the update to 4.10, and I do not see the new features, and I cannot find dforce anywhere, I am not able to create a tab for it...

Is this update legit?

Try going into scripts > utlities folder,  then click on update and merge menus script

It should be under window > panes > simulation settings after you update the menus

Some other users had problems to see the dForce options and got them after using the "update and merge menus" command (Window>Workspace>Update and Merge Menus)

    I tried this ...no luck....

Does it mater that I already had VWD, and the old Dynamic Clothing feature?

No, that should not cause any issues.

Maybe try changing the DS layout and then going back to the one you usually use?

Window>Panes(Tabs)>Environment (I think it's docked top-right but you've shrunk your screenshot and i can't be sure). Make sure the Type is set to None.

If you have that HDRI light set loaded you may have to adjust the intensity or the Tone Mapping it might be too bright and causing the white out.

Why is there no official forum for DS 4.10? Or do we have one, and I just didn't find it? surprise

I tried the manual download, but the system always sends me to my Product Library where I find - nothing.

    ???

Did you turn on and off the Background in Environment to see if it was 'stuck'? :)

I assume you mean thread rather than forum https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/206696/daz-studio-4-10-pro-general-release#latest

I've had the Background turn white for unkown reasons. I just change it back to my preferred color:

    Windows>Style>Customize Style>1. Base>01. Background Color

If you had saved a Style preset, you could try reloading it.

Has anybody found any plugins that were working in 4.9 but are broken in 4.10 ?

...I still cannot get the installer to download. According to Task Manager, Malware Bytes isn't even an active process (I only have the free version and it turns it is out of date) so not sure what is causing the bump to my product page.

Have you tried finding the installer in your DIM folder and installing it manually from that on your other machine?

...I can't use the DIM as that is on the work system which has no Net connection.  I only have wireless service and the system does not have a wireless card.

For content, my usual SOP is to download the zip installers using the notebook, transfer to the DIM install folder on the work system via USB stick, then install with the DIM in offline mode. For programme updates (except Betas as those only show in the DIM) I get the full Windows (Bitrock) installer which I also  download transfer and then install on the work system.  Had no issue with 4.9.4.122 or previous releases of the programme, only 4.10.

Also, oddly, the dForce Essentials do show up in my product library, but nothing for 4.10.

Sometimes I wish Daz still had their "disk burn" (or today, "USB burn") option as at this point, I'd be willing to pay for the service just so I could get the update.

You have the Viewport Draw set to Nvidia Iray, (see the Iray icon to the left of the dropdown set to Perspective View,) and it's rendered the empty area. Set it back to your usual Draw settings and you should see the area as you expect it to be. (The default Textured setting is Ctrl+9, on Windows.)

ETA: Fishtales had it right all along.

...refreshed the Commons page and the thread disappeared.  Had to track it down to here.  Wish there was some sort of notice left behind.

They did that to me too last week....lol. Couldn't for the life of me figure out why they deleted my thread until I found it elsewhere. LOL.

Well, they have been saying most of the day that topics related to DS features like dForce belong in the DAZ Studio Discussions forum, so why is it surprising to find them finally putting the topics there (here).

  • L'AdairL'Adair Posts: 9,479

Well, I think "DAZ_" should put up a stickied announcement in The Commons with links to the various dForce threads that have been moved, (and maybe those that were started in DS Discussion forum,) so people can find them again. There are a lot of forum users that spend almost all of their time in The Commons. (I'm one of them! lol.)

Actually, they moved mine to the Art Studio forum...lol.

Yeah, but yours was an Art thread, so it made sense to move it there. And, for what it's worth, I'd love to see some of the Commercial threads in the Commons get moved to the PA forum...

  • AllenArtAllenArt Posts: 7,172

Yeah, the Michael male thread has been in the commons for lo these many months. I guess they got their reasons. LOL

basically with long running threads we are leaving them in the forum they started in for the time being. Newer threads are being moved to the forum they really belong in,  so Art and Art challenges in Art Studio (or the specific program forum) DS in DS forum,  Bryce in Bryce forum etc.

Commercial threads are slightly different,  as they are after all the bread and butter that keeps the whole shebang running, so they get 2 bites at the cherry, Commercial and a 2nd in either Program specific or Commons (as stated in the Forum ToS/Commercial Advertising/#3)
