daz 4.10 iray renders

Since going from daz 4.9 to daz 4.10 some of my characters skin have not come out right. Instead of trying to explain how they look I have attached a render.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice?

Thank you

    What exactly is the problem?

Some skin Iray presets have metal flakes turned on, this takes longer for them to resolve (and IMO doesn't add anything to the look).

    The fireflies, most likely.

The way I understand it, nothing in the scene was changed; only thing different is that the OP updated to 4.10. The only thing that I can think of is that the scene needs to cook longer than what the render settings are letting it.

You may want to add some expalanation in your thread title.   Your thread nearly got moved to the Art Studio forum as an art thread.

What I'm seeing is a render that needs more time. Are you using the Quality setting? (Quality button set to "On") If so, try setting it to "Off". That prevents Daz Studio from testing for convergence. With Quality "Off", Max Time and Max Samples will control how long the image renders. Set Max Time to "0" (zero) and it is effectively turned off as well, leaving Max Samples as the only parameter controlling when the software automatically ends the render. If the render stops and you think it needs to render longer, you can then click on the incredibly tiny arrow in the middle of the left side of the render window to open the settings, click on Progressive Rendering, and increase the number of samples. With the Max Samples increased, the Resume button will become available and you can continue to render without having to start over.

Also, are you comparing "apples to apples"? Did you render the attached scene in 4.9 without the issue? If not, it could be the complexity of the scene making a longer render time necessary to reach the desired result. If it is the same scene, are you rendering the same resolution? A larger image will also need a longer render time.

I have been using 4.10 since the beta was released, and I've not seen any issues with skin coming out "blotchy" like your sample image. so I'm inclined to believe the issue is other than just upgrading the software.

That doesn't seem a render to me, but an opengl preview. It's quite impossible that iray doesn't cast shadows. Try to update your drivers. Also try both the last one and one version back. There's people saying that the latest nvidia drivers are not too good.
