Exporting DAZ Studio animation to Cinema 4D

Hi guys, :)
I was just wondering how to best export an animation to Cinema 4D while preserving the textures, etc?
Do I need to export a model for each frame and if so is there a way I can also bring the textures into C4D?
Thanks! :D
Comments
I don't do animation, but taking still frames into C4D its FBX format that gives me the least problems with textures.
FBX also supports some sort of animation so it may work for your purposes too. :-)
Thanks Prixat. :D
I've found FBX does work, but it also dramatically reduces the polygons on the model and also the positioning of the pose is completely off - is there any way to improve that? :D
If its Genesis you're exporting from DAZ Studio then it's only the HN cage that gets exported, but as you know, its a trivial thing to add subdivision in C4D.
DAZ Studio > Cinema 4D R13 > Indigo Render (Plugin for Cinema 4D R13)
I have trouble with the eyelashes, how I can fix that? Also the case with the figure of genesis and michael 4. The results are very realistic and very fast. I wish someone could tell me how to fix the lashes.
The latest images lasted 5 min. of render, but in 3 min. quality is very acceptable.
Thanks for your reply.
Just converting the eyelash material to an indigo material should do it.
This is the result I get. Can you tell me step by step? Please, I hope not bother.
We've derailed the thread a bit, I hope CassiusOne doesn't mind!
Some materials need a bit of tweaking after FBX import to correct a couple of mistakes introduced in the import/export process. Especially anything involving transparency.
Did the original eyelashes render correctly with the internal renderer, before you went to Indigo?
These are the steps I used for correcting the eye material. Its a little old but most of it should still apply.

Once its working internally then the Indigo conversion should work properly. :-)
With the internal render is the same.
My friend, the instructions you gave me are very clear (FBX format), but does not work for me.
Also try with this video (OBJ format) http://vimeo.com/36231522 and I am unable to get good results. Maybe it's my version of CINAMA 4D R13.
I totally understand the instructions, but does not work for me.
What version of Cinema 4D do you use?
I have the same version.
What are the Alpha settings in your eyelash material?
That looks the same as my settings.
I used solid black for the diffuse colour.
Specular, reflection or transparency shouldn't matter but have you tried turning them all off just in case.
It doesn't show in the display but it renders correctly (not in Indigo).
I have the same settings in tags.
With the internal render look at the eyelashes.
With Image Viewer render does not look.
With indigo render the same result remains unsatisfactory.
Let's end this here, just one last thing:
What version of indigo render do you have?
Best regards and thanks for your help.
Indigo version is 3.4.18 demo
About more than a year ago when there were still letters to the Users or forum posts of the DAZ exectutive there was once an entry that more or less said:
DAZ is talking to several other software producers to find solutiions to bring Genesis support.

As far as I can gather the way to do that would be about the same as it is done with Carrara:
Make a DAZ Studio plugin for Cinema 4D.
Cinema 4D users could directly access Genesis and the content library with the help of smart content.

Are any plans like that in motion?

Why is Cinema 4D important to me? In fall there will be a Cinema 4D light released to work together with Adobe After Effects.
details of CINEMA 4D integration with After Effects

This also means that a lot of users that have not yet worked with 3D will start to using 3D models when working with After Effects.
This also means that could be a huge opportunity for DAZ to get a completly new user group to use DAZ content:
Adobe After Effects users who want quick access to 3D models for their motion graphics.
The big question is:
Is DAZ in talk with Cinema 4D / Adobe?
Are there any plans in motion to develop a DAZ studio plugin for Cinema 4D or Cinema 4D light?

Ok, thanks for the info.
FOR THE EYELASHES PROBLEM, JUST COPY THE TRANSPARENCY TEXTURE INTO THE ALPHA CHANNEL AND ACTIVATE IT OF COURSE... HOPE IT HELPS.
