Welp. 4.6 is now officially out.

Yeah. I wonder how many more resources it uses than 4.5. I also wonder how thoroughly it was tested.

In the mean time, now my account says next payment for the PC is on the 17th. Before it was the 16th. It says annual, and I'm hoping against hope (and the laws of probability) that they don't try to charge my credit card for that...I will take quick action if they do.

    Dana

i think ... you'd prolly have to do the properly cancel procedures to prevent charge transaction.

Well, since my annual membership was paid with PayPal, not my credit card, for several years...I'd expect that they not touch my credit card. And I think that is a reasonable expectation. I have things to do today, I won't be back at my computer and/or phone until at least mid afternoon.

    Dana

If there's a valid payment method when the renewal is due it will take it - how would it know not to? If you paid with PayPal, and haven't cancelled it with PayPal, then it will be down as a recurring payment and probably will be allowed through.

There is nothing to cancel with PayPal. It was not done as a subscription. They didn't do it like that at that time. It was a regular purchase. The last date was in October, 2011. I renewed for an extra year, early, during the PC sale. I had already renewed early the year before that, also during the PC sale. My original date was May 16, maybe in 2008 or 2009. At any rate, it was never a recurring subscription at PayPal. I have no record of a subscription at PayPal. I can't cancel what isn't there.

Well, I called DAZ3D and was shunted to an overflow call center, and was told they only thing she could do was put in a ticket. That's useful. :shut: So I may or may not still be in the PC tomorrow.

I wonder if anything in my wishlist has gone into the Prime lately...time to go check.

and had an idea for my apostrophe problem. woww. it must be the Green TEA Jasmine. tee hee

sigh. back, refresh submit post again.

I've been making morphs from bulk saved geometry deforming stem, leaf and flower UV groups. Is easy to deform with gradients in LW, you would need to use magnetism or drag with falloff if Wings supports it :)

    bulk saved geometry? hd'scr'ch

plans to try it with the Poser grouping tool and auto group. just want a lil wobble when a fairy lands on it. :)

wonders if all the 4.6 d/ls are killing the servers.

sigh again, back again, refresh again, submit again.

I just load stuff into poser and check the items I want to export to LW, they mutate into one object but with the UV groups intact - stem, leaf, flower etc just what you need to animate a garden full instead of one at a time :)

    kinda like this

animate a garden full instead of one at a time :)

    ohhh, sounds most excellent :)

Less painful than boning a dozen or so objects :)

omg, i'm sick of being sent to my account page every time i post. going to FaerieWylde. nefarious plan by the servers to get rid of me

You have my sympathy. I would not even bother if that were my Internet speed. For me, 435 MB would download in about as many seconds. So you see why I wouldn't bother at your speed. It would be too painful.

...I thought the Genesis Essentials didn't need to be updated.

In any event, can't DL until tomorrow as I had an appointment today that took up the afternoon (a good part of the time just getting to and from there on our wonderful transit system). Took a nap after I got home as I was rather tired.

Essentials update showed up in the DIM. Not sure if it was updated specifically for 4.6. I installed it before I updated to 4.6, so it was prolly not 4.6 specific.

Normal-ish drawings and stuff are okay to post I hope o3o

I'm still feeling a bit bleh art-wise, so doodles and sketches are the best I can do. Regardless, I was very happeh with how this came out. The figure on his vest is supposed to represent "Perseverance", which is ironic because in real life I don't have any xD (This is supposed to be me :P Like that red-white gryphon I was using as my avy for a while, and the current raptor one? Is me every time x3)

Hahaha, I was taking a peek at the RPG Maker site (Surprisng they're still offering XP now that two others have been released, but that's not the point.) and looked at the resource packs they had available...

And in one of them, noticed a veeery familiar dragon!

Ha. Well I never thought of using the subdragon in these, but that's interesting XD

*edit* On the topic of RPGMaker, I liked that the "2003" edition used a side-view ATB system. Unfortunately, the animated battlers made it harder for [most] to put their own stuff in properly but meh xD Also nice was the 100+ "monsters" it came with, all of them set up and ready to go, and the tons of music it had. Some very neat sprites too.
Its successor XP... Well... Had far less "monsters" (Some of which were the battler sprites for the party characters *shrugs*) and were very cartoony. Not a bad thing, but it was a bit disappointing after the wealth of stuff its predecessor offered. VX which came after that had much more detailed sprites (The Jellyfish, Mimic, and Dragon sprites being especially detailed) but like XP was front-view only. I liked the side-view battles D:

making some progress on my Access apostrophe problem.

i created a character look up table. so instead of beeping an error message at the user, it will swap the apostrophe and other headache characters with one specified in the table. like swapping an apostrophe with an acute angle. :)

just haz to put it in a function, so i can call it for any field.

It's the first day of my vacation, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :cheese:

Complaints, though: First, I woke up at 7:30am even though I wanted to sleep in and had turned the alarm off. Dang it! Second, I forgot to do laundry so, well, I'm doing it now so I have clean clothes to wear when I go out tonight. Meh. And I'm installing software, which is about as exciting as watching paint dry, only without getting high off the fumes. :blank:

Non-complaint: Beautiful, sunny, and warm today.. a perfect day to go out in the late afternoon for strippers and beer! It's PARTY TIME!!! :cheese: :snake:

General whine: it seems I have some learning to do with Genesis, it's not quite as simple as working with Gen4 and all the morphs I have.. I'm trying to find out where my expressions and other morphs for Genesis went, they don't look like they're in my content directory that's Daz-only stuff! :blank:

I suppose I should sit down and read the tutorials, argh. I know exactly what I want to do, but I'm not sure how to make it happen with the Genesis figures.

That said, V5 looks real nice and is easy enough to pose.

I'm having some arguments with Uberenvironment2, but I expect it's just teething pain while I climb the learning curve again.

Haven't played with the SSS shader yet, I should spend some time fiddling with it - probably over my vacation. I need to come up to speed on DS materials so I can make pretty shiny things! :cheese:

Back into it.. laundry almost done, yaay! :)

Wooly, once you get into Genesis, I think it is likely to be even simpler than dealing with V4. :)

Morphs for Genesis are in Parameter tab, under Actor.

Expressions are in Parameter tab as well (under a different spot), but some poses that take advantage of them are under People -> Genesis -> Poses -> Expressive (for example)

Doesn't Access, or VBA or whatever you're using, have a Replace( ) function? I think it would be quicker than a loop. Especially if you could use a Regular Expression.

Yeah, I need to spend some time poking around the UI and getting more familiar with it.

It looks as if the Genesis morphs load automagically when the base figure is loaded, which is indeed cool! Saves squabbling with the Power Loader and such. :)

I could see using Genesis in DS4.6 for everything, once I get the morphs for my Gen4 and Gen3 figures. Anything that makes my life easier is good!

Yep, Genesis loads all that funstuff with a click.

Imagine the possibilities! Try to blend some V5 with A5 and see what it gives you! Dial in just a bit of Aiko 5 and halfway to V5 and...

    I love tinkering with it!

Fuzzy draggies... Looks like the Wyvern2.0 I think? Mm... Is a pity I could never figure out C4D's Hair system while I had its trial working. Woulda loved to fuzzy-fy that texture map xD (Is possible to drive color and density from a bitmap, but I never figured out how *shrugs*)
