Another dForce question, this one about animation

I've seen the videos, so I know it's possible; I just need some clues as to how to go about it.
I'm working up a video -- your basic animated NVIATWAS, temple-priestess-investiture scenario. I want to use the Medieval Cape for G2F (creating a white texture with gold embroidery for it is another issue entirely!), with the figure walking toward the ceremonial altar, and the cape moving along with her. Here's the question: will I have to run a dForce simulation on every frame, to get it to drape properly? Or is there a way to automate it, while each frame is rendered?

You set up your animation and simulate before you render. I usually freeze the simulation at this point and then render the timeline to image files.

You set the Simulation Duration to Entire Playrange, not Current Frame.
But then I wonder how using the Current Frame setting on each frame of an animation would come out by comparison. Hmmm.
