"Save" and "Save As"

Daz 4.5 does not appear to be able to distinguish the "save" command from the "Save as" command. I can understanding being prompted to "save as" when you are saving something for the first time. But when you just click "save" to save changes, it continues to act as though you had clicked "save as" and you get the pop up window asking for a file name. So, I have to select the name of the file I am currently working on and then get prompted again saying "This file already exists? Do you want to replace it?" And I click "yes" and it saves it. Why doesn't the program allow me to just "save" and be done with it? Why does it treat every "save" as a "save as?"

Go to Edit > Preferences and put in some author information -- when there's no author information it prevents you from saving directly to avoid overwriting something.
