Zbrush can sorta rig, but it's not really that good, It really depends on exactly what you are trying to do. Are you rendering in zbrush, studio, or some other application?

Why do you need to pose in ZBrush?

I think the tool to sorta rig in ZB is called transpose. I tried it out a little, then avoided it like the plague. If I am just doing a static pose render with a lot of ZB work, I usually do the base pose in studio, export to ZB, then finish everything there. Export back to studio as OBJ(I do sculpting, then use uvmapper to make it all one map, then poly paint, then export back), then do a render.

If I need to do something that involves animation or different poses, it's a lot more complicated.

I normally pose in DS when I'm creating morphs that need to be worked on in Zbrush. When reimporting it should automatically send back with reverse deformations ticked if you haven't closed either program, but if you close down either of them you will need to manually change it when returning it to DS iirc.

If you are exporting to Zbrush and then rendering in Keyshot or something you would probably be better off posing in DS also.

Transpose is useful if you have to do things in ZBrush but it is easier to pose in DS.

  • thanks thats helps alot.
