This is to give you a quickie look inside. I hid the "body" and the glass windows to shoot inside, which could be challenging when moving the camera. I don't have the scene loaded anymore, I don't recall seeing cameras provided and they aren't listed. The vehicle focuses on functionality, everything opens and closes and the wheels turn. Great job!

I do wish the exterior had separate material zones so you could do your own decor. You get several options though already.

So keep in mind when you're viewing the interior, the windows are gone and so is the body.

You can click/enlarge as these are 1200px

Remember that, for Iray, you can use a section Plane (from the Create menu) to hide the model for the camera, but if you turn Clip Lights on its parameters the hidden sections will still relfect and interact with lights.

I repeat, Daz Studio latest edition is a piece of garbage. Rendering the exact same scene (no people) and with MORE items out of the scene, it crashed. First render had everything in the scene, the second one had at least 40% taken out. PIECE OF GARBAGE. I've got better things to do so won't be showcasing much anymore until they get this crap fixed. No sets.

Just a reminder- a comparison to the previous version- my computer whizzed through this scene in less than 45 minutes to an hour, no crashes. THREE characters, hair, wardrobe, a set, things added to the set, and lots of props. (This was when Rich and I were engaging in the back and forth, my wizard turned him into a crab to keep him from rendering/making big city scenes. Sadly, he then took his city under the ocean and won the "challenge.")

If you haven't already and wouldn't mind could you please make note of those crashes in the WHY has Studio started crashing so often thread?

I am cleaning out folders and found an old email. Made me laugh so thought I'd share. These are bumper stickers for ladies, from about ten years ago.

So many men, so few who can afford me.

Coffee, chocolate, men- some things are just better rich.

Don't treat me any differently than you would the Queen.

I have an attitude and I know how to use it.

(This is my favorite)  Of course I don't look busy- I did it right the first time.

Do not start with me. I'll finish it.

How can I miss you if you won't go away?

This came up in the "Why has Studio Started Crashing So Often" thread, and @Taoz posted a script that will automatically save the r.png to a backup folder, if there is one, and then start Daz Studio. It's for Windows and does require Net 4.0 is installed. You can find the script here, if you're interested.

It seems like a no-brainer, to me, something like that should be built into DS

I agree would be nice two have builit an auto save feature and on app crash an auto copy or a versioning of the image. And, thanks for the tip. :-)

I have had a free plugin that does incremental auto saves periodically for some time now.  I'm not sure if this is the exact one but take a look here:   http://www.pontari.com/Products/DazStudio/RecentFiles

Of course laugh  Not many recognize it these days, some classic fantasy there!

Where is that thread? I have an open ticket for crashes that just recently started.

    Bethany 7 with Force Hair

I tweaked the skin and hair, moved a few sliders for the 'expression'. Lighting is Sun and Sky with the Sun Disc Intensity set at 2.

Wanted to share a quick render of the Yumi Dforce dress that came out today.  It sims beautifully and has lovely textures as well.

@fishtales  Bethany looks good with that hair and lighting. I like the layering in the hair
@icedragonart  The dress has a nice flow.

Yeah, says the guy who WON.
Sadly, can't at the moment. Swamped with Life at the moment, and my studio is crashing. I don't trust it to do any scenes at the moment.

I've been playing with the freebie dress, Wicked Party Games, that I got from Daz yesterday. I fitted it to FWSA Giada for Aiko 8 and then updated it using three different shader packages.

    1. DG Iray Fabrics of Asia Shaders

    2. Fabric Factory: Realistic Texturing - Iray Shader Presets

    3. @AllenArt 's free shaders (in Freebie's here). On this render, I added a cardigan as AllenArt has a new set of sheer shaders and I wanted to try them. They are excellent smiley

I can see me using this dress a lot. It's versatile and looks like it can cover both daytime and evening dress styles.

Are you using the most recent video drivers for your GPU? I was having crashing problems like others but haven't since (knock on wood) I updated to the most recent nvidia driver.

Yep, that's the version. Yep, I already updated the drivers, I read that a couple weeks ago and did it then.

So who is surfing my thread at the moment? Time for a PM. Seriously. Drop me a PM. Including but not limited to  @rgcincy  @barbult  @wonderland  @mollytabby   @icedragonart  @illysart  @jakiblue   @fishtales

Coz I just figured something out.

I was disappointed with the Globetrotter. For looking like a high end A-Class outside, the interior is more like a basic non-diesel middle-of-the-road A-Class. I guess maybe it has to do with being an RVer... but the um... carpets don't match the drapes. :)

    It was also poorly documented.

So... I've got a scene, it is using an old set that was probably designed for Poser and has a bunch of 3D directional lights in it. I added an outdoor HDRI, a couple of Ghost Lights, and 3 spot lights in the usual configuration.

No matter what, I'm finding that if I drop the exposure down to 11, I'm getting render times of about 20 minutes - but whites are blown out and over-exposed. If I jump up to an exposure of 12 or 13... it catches way more shadow, hue and tone... but the render jumps up to about 1 hour.

Any suggestions? Can you still use annagensisis2 to make ANYTHING Iray? I remember there was a script, but I think I saw that it was broken and I remember it being a hassle to do...

I feel like a lot of my renders have been climbing in time. For a while it seemed like most of my stuff was rendering in anywhere from about 7-15 minutes and looking pretty good. Now every set I throw at it it seems like 45 minutes and I'm having all kinds of dificult with lighting and getting the right ambience.

I thought it might be the 3Delight lights... I had missed a bunch of them when I added iray emissives to light sources... but I got rid of all of them and the issue persists.

@donovancolbert    I had to change the exposure value for the outside vs the inside, but I was using the FWSAfree portrait lights (Not the Pro-Studio) and I like those lights because they have click presets to rotate the dome. Makes it really easy. And they have a nice range of lights. Remember to darken your whites/creams in surface pane so you can increase the lights to keep the details in the lighter items. So I'd say try some portrait lights like Pro Studio or the FWSA portrait lights and see how your render times are. Mine were quick. (And no crashes with the RV)

My combo of 3 spots, some emissives, and HRDI dome and the two ghost lites set to an exposure of 12 seems to have done the trick. I managed to find a happy medium at around 30 minutes for 5000 samples.

Still, things seem a little sluggish lately.

Everything in the logs looks good though. The Cuda driver isn't crashing and falling back to CPU. Sometimes that will happen to me even on a render using 2GB of memory, and I've got an 8GB card. "Failed to allocate memory, CPU rendering..." gah...

I accidently discovered how to make oversize clothing for children playing "dress up". I did an animated simulation starting from G3F and going to a Growing Up child. The clothing did not shrink with the changing model size - for better or worse - better in the case of creating the "dress up" effect. Maybe this has been discussed already, but I did not know about it. This is my first attempt at this. I simulated only the sweater.
