It is not submitted yet.  I have 3-4 more billboards to make and then promos.  I will definitely put up a thread when it is through testing.

I hope it includes people sitting down having a cup of tea\conversation.

I have avoided having sit-down billboards as I don't want to "choose" the wrong chairs/table and look wrong for your scene.  If you have an idea how to avoid that, I will add it.

Use a generic chair\table like this one, then it's up to the user to find a suitable chair\table to fit the billboard.

@DoctorJellybean, do you mean, "Don't render the chair/table"?

LOL yes, I meant use that as a template for the poses but without rendering it.

I am glad xyer0 asked.  I would have done that wrong blush

I created 4 new billboard figures sequences but I should have thought about it first.  sad  Unfortunately, this won't work.  In order for a figure to properly render with a chair, some of the figure needs to render behind the chair and some in front of the chair.  In render 1 (I moved the figures away from the table to clearly show the woman), the woman facing us is ok as all of her is essentially rendered on top of the chair.  The woman facing away is a problem.  Her legs need to be behind the chair but her derriere needs to be on top of the seat and behind the seatback.  Only by being creative can I make it look ok (render 2).  I am extremely hesitant to sell those figure sequences and have the user think they can use them easily.  I hate disppointing you all and providing a subpar product.

Where's the disappointment? You just perfectly and succinctly explained the conundrum and your solution. Provide this information with the release, and let those who joust windmills have at it. Meanwhile, those of us who want a seated option will be glad that our requests have been heard and met. These are acceptable limitations given the fact that anyone who needs something else can render their own solution. Your billboard renders meet the photorealistic requirement, and that was an issue I had previously. Great product idea exquisitely executed. Keep up the great work!

Happy New Year, RiverSoftArt, and thank you for all of your great products! May 2018 be even more productive for you. I humbly submit a product for your usage on your Now-Crowd series so that we don't get recognizable characters in the bunch: https://www.daz3d.com/simtenero-randomizer It's on sale now! Cheers

Happy New Year xyer0!  and thank you for the well wishes.

Happy New Year's to everyone!  Thank you for making my first year here at Daz an awesome one!

(I have hesitated to buy that as it would be simple for me to make if I had time, but I will probably buy it today.  It will not help with the 3 current Now-Crowd products in the pipeline though.  However, there are fewer recognizable characters in these products as I have already started to use Sickleyield's Faces of XXX series more.)

To close down the year, I wanted to show a promo from the upcoming Now-Crowd Billboards - Modern City Life.  I am excited by this product as I have added hard masks as well as the current soft masks to the product (thankfully hard masks barely add any extra space).  Hard masks basically get rid of the pre-rendered shadows in the billboards (at the cost of jaggies), which make them really good for overhead shots.  The screenshot is a type of image I have wanted to make since I started doing the Now-Crowd billboards.

That looks great! This makes life so much easier. There are still scenes where I will have to morph and dress 30 plus characters (Winter city life, audiences), but you have seriously cut down on my workload with the first set and the upcoming one. Thanks for coming up with so many clever ideas.

  • Thanks!  I am enjoying making these.

Ugh, 30 plus characters for one scene?!  I feel for you.  It takes a long time to set up these characters.  The Modern City Life will have 33 Billboards for 46 characters.

  • Having trouble using the elves. First problem, can't find them once installed. So far there is no second problem.

If you mean Smart Content, there are in Props->Effects.  You can also just search for "billboard"

Having installed the party people and the elves, I was wondering about the scripts that came with them. Is there any difference, as they are in two different locations? The thumbnails look the same and have the same naming.

They are supposed to be identical and obviously in the same place sad  I will say that Daz just pushed out a script update I did to Santa's Elves and it doesn't look like the update for Party Time is out yet.  The latest version allows you to select multiple billboards, modify the vertical slider, and only the vertical angle will be updated.

The one script set doesn't work, the other works fine.

Here's the party crowd in a rather gloomy WIP scene for the second panel of my webcomic prologue (just before the big ka-boom), rendered in 3DL, while the action character will be dome in Iray:

This is cool!  Those poor people smiley

BTW, I was looking at your Daz screenshot again and thank you for your support smiley
