"Change Figure" option in Daz?

Hey all, 
I'm trying to replace one character with another in a scene while keeping the same pose and position. I THINK there was a command in Poser called "change figure." I can't remember exactly how it worked (it's on the other desktop), but if I remember correctly, it was pretty straightforward-- select the figure, "change figure", and a different figure would replace the previous one. I think the new one might have even kept the same clothing (not sure about that, though.) Does Daz have this? I looked for it but couldn't find an obvious equivalent.

Save as pose preset, delete figure from scene, load new figure and apply pose preset!

If it's the same base figure you can apply a Character preset and, depending on your choices in Edit>Prefrences>Content tab, you may get a dialogue asking if you want to load a new figure or apply the preset to the current figure - the latter will replace the shape and materials without affecting the pose.

I've tried this but the new character remains in their default loading position with the new pose, but they do not move to the spot of the character I wanted to replace.
