Weird deform after applying pose.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows what's causing this weird deformation? I'm using M7 and applied a M7 pose in the added picture. Happens on all characters.

  • Do you have bend-fixer type sets?

  • I am having this same issue. Whereas I do have bend fixer sets, as you'll see in the 'Currently Used' tab, none of these morphs are applied. This started a few weeks ago, but I have no idea what started it. I haven't applied a pose, but rather just bent the arms down to illustrate the issue.

I have bend fixer sets but it does but that doesn't fix te problem. I have the exact same problem als Blacky13 , bending the arms already causes those weird wrinkles. I haven't noticed them on the lower body part so i guess it's a upper body problem.

  • There was an issue with one of the fixers causing a similar issue, as I recall, which is why I asked. Try uninstalling the bend fixer and see if you still get the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I removed the bend fixer and i still have the same problem.

  • OK, can you work out the minimum posing you need to trigger the effect? Then we can look at what the relevant bends are linked to and see if there's an issue, or if it happens with a bare-bones figure.

  • Here's what I found:

    G3M, no applied morphs:

    Pose Controls/Arms:

    Arms Up-Down
    100: No effect
    -17.8 First sign of distortion

    Shoulders Shrug
    35.3 First sign of distortion

    Genesis 3 Male/Left Collar

    Twist, Front-Back, Bend: No effect

    Shoulder Bend:
Front-Back, Bend, Twist: No distortion effect

    Shoulder Twist:
    Twist, Front-Back: No distortion effect
Bend: -2 First sign of distortion

    Genesis 3 Male/Right Collar

    Twist, Front-Back, Bend: No effect

    Shoulder Bend:
Front-Back, Bend, Twist: No distortion effect

    Shoulder Twist:
    Twist, Front-Back: No distortion effect
Bend: -2 First sign of distortion

No other bones/bends seem to be affected.

I *really* hope this helps! If there's any other additional info I can provide, please let me know.

  • Well, the semi good news is that I don't get the distortion - so that implies it's caused by an add-on. If, in the parameters pane, you click the lined button in the corner to get the option menu (or right-click the tab) and select Show Hidden Parameters, then trigger the distortion by one of the single bone rotations (e.g. Right  Shoulder Twist with a negative Bend) and look at the Currently Used group for the figure what is listed?

  • So here are the results of the process. I'm not sure where the morphs with the red label are from. I tried unlocking and zeroing them out but it didn't have any effect.

  • I used to get this when using certain bend fixers on m4/v4 figures I had created, not had it on any genesis characters yet thankfully.  I found the only real way to prevent it was to remake the character using a blank sheet - ie. no fixers and then add them one by one till I found the culprit(s) and leave them out.  Some would cause the fault themselves on their own, some would be because they were conflicting trying to have 2 doing the same job. As Richard Haseltine is explaining the how to's of, the only fix on an existing character is to find the "offending dials" and then save a new figure.

  • Did you install any character packs that radically alter the shape, such as a werewolf?

  • It was Currently Used, mainly on the figure node, that I was wanting to see.

  • Sorry about that, I misread your instructions. So, having followed them correctly this time, I found the culprit:
    Sixus 1 Skinchangers for G3M.

Unfortunately, I can't uninstall this product because I'm using it for a project that I'm currently working on... so I guess that means I will have to go in and correct this issue every time I need to use the G3M.

What a pain in the tuckus!

Are you aware of any way to address this? It seems like that morph should not be invoked if the Skinchangers character has not been injected into the G3M, or am I missing something?

Thanks *very* much for your help with this!

  • Apparently it looks like this has been an issue for awhile, and it appears that Sixus 1 has released an update that fixes the issue. I don't have time to do the uninstall and reinstall now, so until I'm past my deadlines I will have to live with it.

Oh well, at least I found the issue... thanks again Richard!

  • Now that you have found it I do recall the Skinchnagers having this issue, sorry I didn't recall it sooner.

Since is have the Skinchangers too I will check that later this evening if that solves the issue.

    Hi all,

Apparently it was the skinchanger too that caused the problem. Thanks so much for all the help!

As I wrote on another thread here on the Daz 3D forums, ENABLE figure limits in the parameters tab(all of them). Did the trick for me :-D  (seeing to that this was one of the only hits on google for this matter, I thought I'd share if anyone else stumbles in here with this issue).
