GoZ Sending New Objects instead of Updating.

Just as the title says. I have a shirt I'm trying to fix. When I Goz the Shirt its fine. But if I move the shirt in the scene, instead of updating the mesh when I Goz again, it sends in an entirely new shirt, solo by its self with no Genesis in the Subtools... Whats going on here? It wasnt doing that an hour ago.

  • Could you go through the steps please, I'm not quite sure I follow.

  • Load figure.

    Load shirt onto figure (autofited)

    Goz

    Go back to studio

    Morph the shirt a bit.

    Goz back to Zbrush

Now the Genesis is gone and the shirt if by its self. ...

I made sure I'm clicked on Genesis. So thats not it.

  • It should give you the option of creating a morph of the item; is that greyed out? In my experience, sometimes GoZ will default to new item, but you should still be able to choose to create a morph instead.

  • At the moment I can't get anything but the shirt, even on the first attempt. Sometime the bridge seems to get stuck, I haven't tried it today but in the past clearing (for Windows) C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoZProjects\Default with ZBrush closed has helped with oddities.

I'm not morphing the shirt in zbrush. I'm trying to get Goz to "update" my shirt after I move it around in the scene. Say I load it into Zbrush in Tpose. But I remove a morph I have applied to the shirt. Then send it back to Zbrush. It sends back one object. And the subbtools panel is emtpy accept for the shirt. It's acting the same way it would. If you just grabed the one single shirt and sent to Goz, when what I'm realliy doing is Gozing Genesis 3 with parented shirt.

I've tried that. Several times... lol That was the first thing I thought of doing but it didnt help.

Yeah I had the same issue last time I was messing around with zbrush to fix a clothing floating 2 inches off the skin. I couldn't get it to work at all. Ended up having to export as OBJ and using morph loader to make it a morph.

Yeah so I'm still experiencing this issue.. If anyone can help me  that would be great. A lot of times I will over do a morph, put it at 50% and Goz back the actor and when I do, it sends an entirely new actor obj, which wipes out all my masking. It almost always happens when I have anything parented to an actor, be it clothing, or a sword or what have you. I know the default suggestion is going to be "take everything off." But, I'm morphing a pose, and this pose I need to have the clothing on the actor. My actor is wearing tight pants, so my goal here is to make a little belly puge where the pants is, I need to be able to have the objects all working. I need to be able to incrementally morph, and mask, and navigate my objects... This is currently not possible for me.

  • I have this problem from time to time; particularly with DS4.11. I was hoping that the new patch 4.11.0.196 would solve the problem but it persists.

I have reported this as a bug (several times) to the Help Desk but it has not been resolved.

Fortunately, I have found a work around (well, it works on my system anyway!). Whenever GoZ will not return a morphed object/figure back to DS (from whence it came) , but opens a new instance of DS, I shut down DAZ and ZB then uninstall DS via DAZ Install Manager (DIM), then reinstall DS via DIM. No computer restart is necessary. GoZ can suddenly communicate properly with DS and ZB.

Whilst this is irritating, it is very quick. However, don't forget to check the ability of GoZ to return properly to DS every time you send a new figure from DS. It is exceptionally annoying if you have been morphing for half an hour and then find that DS is not talking to GoZ properly this time.

The problem occurs sporadically and apparently randomly, but the solution is relatively quick. I hope DAZ fix the problems with GoZ soon, such issues have been around a very long time.
