Strange DSON problem.

I did a test install of DSON shortly after it was released (PP 2012 - 64), and that seemed to work fine. Since then I've been messing with that computer and reinstalled the system from an image several times. This time I wanted to install DSON again, and it seems to work somehow, but Genesis is scaled up like 150 times or so. It's bigger than V4 if I scale it down to 1%.

The first time I tried to load Genesis into the scene a file dialog popped up and asked for a file named "none". If I clicked cancel I got a read only text box asking it I wanted to look for more missing files. No yes/no dialog, so all I could do was close it (looks like someone . have overlooked something here...). At this stage Genesis (the untextured version) was blue-green.

Next time I tried to open a the only folder which was visible in the file dialog, I think the folder was named DAZ. Inside it was a "subdnull.obj" file. I tried to open it to see what happened, but it only made Genesis change color to blue-green. After that, it no longer asks for missing files when I load Genesis.

Morphs don't seem to work either, though it scales down many times (many times more than it normally does) if I use the child morph. It's keeps the adult shape though.

Anyone who knows what can be wrong here? All files have been installed correctly according to the DSON Doc pages, and I've tried to reinstall all DSON stuff without any luck. All files are the latest, just downloaded. Poser is updated to SR3.1

Anyone who knows what can be wrong here?

Where are you content directories? The importer needs to create some files when it imports, so if Poser doesn't have write access to them (as would be the case if they were in the Programme Files folder in Vista or later for Windows) then the process can fail.

The files are on a seperate drive, so that's not the problem. But now I've reinstalled the system and will give it another try, to see if I can make it work...

Open up the prefs for the DSON. Find the folder where the genesis information is cached. By default, it usually is in the Poser app data folder.

Make sure Poser is closed and clear out the old cached data. Launch Poser and try reloading the base genesis app. On a new, clean load, it will load in it's gray default settings. Apply a texture and test the morph dials.

Well it seems to be working now, after the reinstall. I think the problem was that I mistakenly installed the Genesis Starter Essentials in a separate folder instead of in the DAZ library.

    Thanks for the input!
