Nice little program, [strike]50% off (today only)[/strike] (deal gone now but may be back later)

I recall I had a program (freeware I think) some years ago which could do something similar, not by using the mouse though but by changing different settings which generated some random pictures. Don't recall what the program was called though - does anyone know of such a program?

Thanks for the tip. I bought it. It looks like a cool program, and at that price...

I just picked it up as well.

You MIGHT be thinking of the old Particle Illusions SE Freeware edition (now discontinued) or the Particles LSL Generator http://particles-lsl-generator.bashora.com/ , but there were a couple of those out there. That said, there are several Filter Forge filters that do similar things, but none with the level of control that this allows. Magic Particles is a particularly nice one.

(Man, we are SO spoiled these days. I haven't picked up acrylics in years...)

I hardly recall anything about the program. I used some of the pictures as background on the menu system on a series of video CDs I made back then (2001 I can see from the file dates). It's actually possible that the program was part of the CD Menu Creation program I used but I'm not sure. Here's one of the menu's:

Here's another one I managed to find among the menu files - it was named menu3.bal (an internal format the menu program used I guess) but is actually a .png. Looks terrible, it appears that the menu program converted the images to 256 color png. I know they looked much better when I created them so I think they must have been made with a different program.

I'll bite. Sometimes for my fantasy renders Gimp's alpha to logo glows do fail. ;)

I bought it too - mainly because they are releasing a new version 2.0 and 1.7 users will have some nice discount :P
I love how easy it is to achieve showy results.

Also, the author has several other nice free tools on his website (under Experiments I think), which are worthy to check, if only for fun.

I like rendering them over transparency so I can use Photoshop blend modes to blend them in together and make interesting desktop backgrounds for myself.

Bubbles...make nice water bubbles...small selected area screen grab example.

Throw in a some gradient mapping and you can get some more interesting results when using layers and blend modes...another small selected area for an example.

*Note: Several flames rendered then composited on their own layers make up the bubbles...same can be said of the second image.

Nice! But between picking up this, a huge pile of goodies in the Zombie sale over at Rendo AND DAZ 4.6 and the new plugins hitting today, I don't know what to experiment with first. :ohh:

I just updated to 2.05 version and it looks quite cool. Editable vector layers option is something really unique in this type of painting software.
