Shopping Cart SOLVED

I have an item on my wishlist. I placed an item into my shopping cart before I was logged in. Cart showed it there.
Subsequently logged in to purchase the item - cart shows as empty. Tried to add the same item - I get the purchase limit of 1 error.
Tried logging out and back in - same error over hand over.
Any suggestions?

I figured out how to trick the system, and was able to order ok and clear the cart at the same time
