When using UberEnvironment 2 in Indirect Lighting w/Directional Shadows mode with a Diffuse Image Map -- How do I get UE2 to render my Image Map like a background picture? No matter what I try, it always renders as invisible.

UE itself won't do that - you need to apply the environment map to a sphere (and fiddle to get it aligned since that is currently problematic). Note that the actual UE maps are too low resolution to be sued for this.
"xpand the UE2 node and select the EnvironmentSphere in the Scene tab, then go to Parameters tab and under Misc find the "Visible in Render" toggle, it's set to Off by default.
Also low res images would love to be sued and win hands down. If they're too low res even for that, though, use some focal blur, or replace them with their Tif counterparts.
Thanks ReDave!! Your suggestion works. Yes, I am definitely using a Higher Res Image for my visible background. It might be best to use a low res version of the image for the light. The High Res/Low Res combo works well for renderers like Blender/Cycles. I will experiment with UE2.
