4.6 resource errors after installation?

I've just installed version 4.6 but every resource I try and use comes up with an error saying the file doesn't exist.
Whats worse is the path its following doesn't even exist in the profram files as I followed it and I seem to be missing alot of things.
Any advise or suggestions here?
EDIT
I've just had a look through the path again after a complete reinstall. It seems that after the /Mylibrary part of the path the folder is completely empty?!

if you use Great DIM to install contents,
as default Great DIM need new specail directory which DIM install daz contents.
the directory is different from which you install daz studio by installer, and it show as default content directory.
(if you leave it as default )
so that you need to set the DIM recommend default path as new ds contents directory, by directory manager.
then can you see where you install contents? check it by DIM setting ( click small gear icon right-top corner
and select installation path, you can decide directory where DIM install your contents)
and you must need downloadd and install genesis starter essential kits, (it is default contents for daz studio)
from your account, or use great DIM.
I'm sure I'm just being stupid here.
I read your post several times (Can I assume that English isn't your native language, I don't mean that offensivly I just had troubles understanding some parts! :D )
I get this same error message on EVERYTHING (poses, people, scenes, ligths) I try to load :(
I am Sorry-^^; I must be stupid ^^;
as your Pic,, there seems no problem..
then,, can not see any files in the /Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/Mylibrary ?
if actually there is no contents,, you may need to re-download and install again,,
(you may better not use "DIM")
Then did you map the directory to CMS already?
contents directory tab> directory manager. (right-click tab>directory manager)
can you see your install directory under Daz studio format, and Poser Formats?
if you can not see the directory ( in your pic,, it is /Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/Mylibrary)
you need to set the directory as DAZ studio format and Poser fomat.
(you can use the directory for Poser and DS contents)
DIM is not great,, if it miss install contents, and tell you installed :coolmad:
Ah,,,, Now I understand,, there is actually some problem.
have you uninstalled old daz default contents , when you install
new geensis starter essential kits?
because Now we never use /people/genesis/genesis.dsf
all scene files or presets,, (character) should be duf.. in current version,,,
so that,, it should be genesis.duf
I think your daz studio remain old file path, which have not installed.
or merged dsf with duf.
if you up-date version from ds 4.0,,
you need clean un-install,, CMS and daz built in contents,( there was genesis.dsf)
and daz studio,,
and try to re-install,, ds 4.6 and genesis starter essential kits,, I think.
and if ds keep to serch the dsf file when you start up ds,,
you can change it from preferences. then set correct genesis.duf files..
(I had same problem,, when I update ds4 to ds 4.5,, )
Did you have the My Library folder selected at the bottom of the Ready to Install tab, or the My DAZ 3D Library?
In his pic DIM show "current"="test". he choose "selected" option.
then I think he installed contents to the Test = Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/My library .
Ok I think it's starting to work now...I actually have bits showing up now. Thank you :)
Another quick question, are the tabs supposed to be so cut down?
I mean for example my "File" tab in DS only shows Exit, Send to and Save as...Is there no "New" option to start a clean slate?
Hi,, anyway I am glad to hear you can start ^^; sorry my bad english :red:
then,,if you want to customieze your menu,,
short cut key F3 (windows>Workspace>customize)
you can add Action by drug and drop, from left Actions Pane,
or delete "action" from each menu and tab options of right pane.
( I can not tell detail of how to,, but you can customize "File" menu )
You sir/ma'am are an absolute legend!
I hope you'll accept my virtual world hug as a viable token of appreciation and thanks!
If you are using the 'Full Service (Beta)' layout, you may get the restricted menus also.
Change to something else, like Darkside for example.
This still makes no sense...I've got past the "Path Error" message and now atleast 85% of the stuff works.
But now I just get "This doesn't exist" or "This doesn't exist" despite the fact it's telling me its there.
Why is the default program so poorly put together like this...Surely it should just come with these standards things already in.
And I'm pretty sure I've still got this path thing wrong.
It used to, but it made for a massive download, the program is about 150 MB, but the content is about 450 MB.
Can you elaborate?
Ok so I've just reinstalled and things seem to have worked.
So I got http://www.daz3d.com/fairytale-collection-darktale-castle to see if I had worked out this path thing...Used the DIM, went into DAZ and nothing. How do you go about adding things you get from the store :\
EDIT
I realised I needed http://www.daz3d.com/fairytale-collection-fantasy-castle so I got that, but where do I put the texture files that come with it?
The Fantasy Castle is in Poser Format. It uses Poser CR2 (Character) files, and they are put into the runtime folder that will be in your main Library. If you are using the DIM to install Fantasy Castle, it will put everything in the correct place, just use the same path to install EVERYTHING.
To find it, you will need to go to the Content Library pane, Poser Formats > My Library (or My DAZ 3D Library) > Figures, and you will be able to load if from there.
If you are installing these things by yourself, then I would need to know what you downloaded, and what the ZIP file contains. You also haven't said what the install path that you gave to the DIM is. Did you install to the default path, My DAZ 3D Library, or did you change it?
The whole idea of the DIM, is that you only need to set up the path once that you install to, the DIM will put everything in the correct place. Not all items have Metadata, which is required for objects to appear in the Smart Content pane, BUT, everything will appear in the Content Library pane regrdless of whether it has Metadata or not.
In Content Library, you need to look in the correct section, all figures prior to Genesis, were in Poser Format. All Genesis items will be in DAZ Studio Formats, so make sure that you are looking in the correct place.
Thanks, I couldn't find the darkstyle ones!
Edit:
Ok so it shows the darkstyle one in the content pane but when I click it it starts to render and then says it cant find the file.
I need a bit more information.
Did you have the Fantasy castle loaded, and then applied the Darktale texture set to it? I would have expected error messages before rendering?
What does it say ion the log file. Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File? Please don't post the entire log as it can run to many pages, cuat and paste the relevant section.
