Hair through Clothes/ Body - Fix?

Is there a way to fix the issue that hair goes through clothes or the body of a character like a addon so it follows the shape of the jacket in the picture for example and looks natural?

Which hair is it? Many hair models have morph dials to allow you to adjust its shape to work around things like posed body parts and bulky clothes.
Other options include dformers (if you are using DAZ Studio) to bend/shrink part of the hair, or creating a new surface and hiding the offending pokekthrough parts (which will only work for certain angles), or the good old fallback of putting some random object in the foreground strategically placed to be right over the flaw.
I'm having this problem with the Daz Dog 8. I'm trying to put a vest on a fox, but the hair pokes right through it.
The solution I hear most often is to render twice; once with hair pokethrough and again without it (by turning off all the regions of hair that cause the issue), then put those in your favorite image editor and paint out the offending hair with layer opacity. It's a little more labor-intensive to do this and I would also appreciate a built-in method to solve this.
