Slow connection aside, I never dealt with this on the old site. It may have been slow to respond but didn't mess up my post, return me to a blank post screen after clicking "submit", or tell me it couldn't accept my response.

Store was flakey for me as well but was too tired to think about it at all

Oh Cloudflare. That is totally out of Daz3D's hands, it's a totally different system that is Supposed to keep the Daz site secure. I also regret the choice of Cloud for that purpose. As it puts a second set of servers between us and the site. If they have issues we have issues here but never see it until we get a full blown CloudFlare page.

I have the Cassell Dictionary of Slang, it's 1,300 pages long. Or 150 without the terms relating to sex.

Of which 100 pages are reserved for getting drunk, 25 pages for going to the toilet, and 20 pages for being so screwed by life. The rest (5 pages) are for various ersatz aspects of life.

    Sounds right.

Darn, I want a copy of that! :bug: :bug:

Hmm, different cover from mine - which must be older than I thought then http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cassells-Dictionary-Slang-Jonathon-Green/dp/0304366366/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1369423174&sr=8-2&keywords=Cassell+Dictionary+of+Slang

    Heh heh, thanks! :vampire:

    ...all this talk about bones...

LOL! Reminds me of a punny my Dad liked to repeat every so often...

Chicken Farmer: Them folks at KFC asked me to raise them some six legged chickens so they could sale more drumsticks.
Customer: That sounds like a pretty good idea, how did it go?
Chicken Farmer: Prutty good, nice big chickens all with six legs I was looking forward to the extra money.
Customer: Looks around beat up farm. It doesn't look like you made much money what happened?
Chicken Farmer: I never could catch one of 'em.

Cloudy, hot, humid. Meh. But it's a three-day weekend, w00t! :cheese:

Stomach very unhappy, all the stress the past 2 days has taken it's toll. :-S Thankfully I have a fresh bottle of Tums, so I'm prepared.

    Urgh. :blank:

    TUMS fruit flavors.

Three day weekend sounds good :)

Yeah, should help take the stress off! Sit around, compose music, render.

Hopes that all happened, sounds good :)

Good so far! Early to bed, late to rise - gentle rain and quiet neighbors today really helped me relax and sleep in. :)

    Up soon - rendering! ;)

I rented Iron Sky the moment Amazon had it - despite a lot of folks not living it, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I'd watch TV if more Iron Sky-like stuff was on it, too. And, I mean, why hasn't someone done a steampunk TV series?!?!?! :bug:

The cloud. Hype! Doesn't anyone realize what a cloud is made of? Vapor! Behind the smoke and vapor, it's just a fancy way of saying Shared Hosting. Your stuff on someone else's server, with their security that you have to depend on. Not that it's either good or bad, but just that it's nothing more fancy than that, really. OK, maybe also that it's distributed computing, and redundant servers. Also not new things. Just the name is new.

And that makes my observation that a cloud error causes errors here at the Hosted site invalid? Sort of reinforces it if you ask me. Just saying....

 Well, there's a strip mall next door - the Whataburger, a sub shop, urgent medical care place, massage parlor :red: and a Valero that sells groceries and beer, then across the street is the bbq truck, a Subway, liquor store, and a Jack in the Box, 2 blocks to another corner grocery, a Pizza Hut, and a Mexican restaurant.

It's kind of nice on days like this, no long distance run to get basics. :)

We used to call that "thin client and data center". :-S Yep, this is nothing new, just wireless instead of wires (which makes a difference in mobility) but you still have the same "single point of failure" issues, not to mention flaky wireless that can negatively impact your enjoyment and productivity.

    "Big Iron" is back. :bug:

Yeah, Daz has no control - just like with my Google Drive, if Google messes up, there's not an thing I can do but cry. At least with local storage/backup, if it goes down I can fix it with a run to Best Buy or Frys. :-S

When the cloud works, it rocks. When it fails, it rots. :blank:

That wasn't my intent. It was just ranting, really, on something that has been bugging me for a while and you just brought it up. I wasn't looking for an argument or anything. No offense to you meant at all.

This is why I limit my posts...anything beyond a brief hello, like a rant or something, always seem to get misunderstood.

I can get plans off the Web for a wideband jammer, I was thinking of building one, getting a cheap bike, and pedaling around with the thing in my backpack all over the area! :vampire: :vampire:

Cells, wireless access points, all would be blasted out! :snake:

Such a thing is highly illegal, but it'd be fun to hear the screams as I nuked everyone's wireless! :vampire:
