Why does Daz documentation hate units?

"SSS Amount - This property sets how much scattering is occurring" Well, duh. Compared to what? Values above 1 seem to be possible.
"Scattering Measurement Distance - This is the distance light must pass through an object before getting the SSS Amount." In miliparsecs? Centimeters? Furlongs?
I'm trying to convert DAZ shaders to Cycles, but the lack of precision in the documentation on the UberShader is killing me.

all distances in DS are in cm.
Geometries in DS are specified in cm, but Iray works with meters, you can confirm this by creating a 1m sphere and 10cm sphere, apply both the Iray Wax shader, the 1m sphere looks more like wax than the 10cm sphere.
For surfaces, measures units do not matter, but for scattering and lights are extremely important.
The shader proeprties should be converted to cm, though that may not be the case for some of the samples I suppose.
Any clue on SSS Amount?
