Dear Forum Admins at DAZ3D,

Recently I have noticed that I cannot update my forum photo or avatar as after I click on the update button, it always reverts to the original image I uploaded.

Having conversed with other forum members, I have found that others are having the same problem.

If you would be so kind as to look into this issue and resolve it as soon as you can, I and the rest of the forum community would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks very much for your continued consideration and support! Please let me know what you find as soon as you can.

Kindest Regards!

P.S. As per the TOS forum topic, I initially tried to send this to forumadmin @ daz3d.com but shortly received a rejection message indicating "The email account that you tried to reach does not exist.". I highly recommend someone review the content of the TOS forum topic and update the contact information accordingly so the community does not get the wrong idea. Tremendous thanks for all your help!

I just checked and it does have the incorrect email in it. We will have it updated soon. As far as the avatars we didn't know they were broken. It was broken but fixed a couple weeks ago.

    Frank0314,

Once you hear that a resolution has been applied, please let me know and I will be happy to test it to verify that it has been resolved.

Thanks very much for your prompt response!

There is a known issue with Avys. And this works MOST of the time but not all.

If your Avy is a png now you MUST use a jpg to replace it and so on. I just swap mine back and forth png<>jpg and it works most of the time.

    Jaderail,

Converting .png to .jpg did the trick.

As always Jaderail, you're the best!

You don't need to change format, just do a force-refresh (ctrl-F5 in IE and Firefox, presumably cmd-F5 for Firefox on a Mac). Changing formats triggers a refresh too, which is why it works.

That will work sometimes but from experience I have noticed that some users do not see the change until a Cloud Refresh happens and that can be hours sometimes. It depends on the Browser being used it seems.

Mr. Haseltine: Thank you for the suggestion but I tried that more than once and it did not work. I also tried deleting the avatar image from the forum server and after confirming it was removed, uploaded the new image but the old one still appeared.

It would seem the forum server has a problem over-writing images with the same file extension, probably because it retains the old one, possibly due to a caching issue since the file name does not seem to change.

I just changed mine with no issues. I went from using a .png to a .jpg
