Glass Transparancy renders

HI all

I've been through this Topic but 90% of the settings I do not understand or cannot find in Daz3D 4.10

https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/1988/cannnot-see-through-windows-of-object

I am trying to get this scene's glass to be transparent. The table and window is suppose to be. I am using "Apartment Living and Patio" package.

I have no clue what do here.

The image i snippet from Daz of the Aux Viewport.

That's a 3delight glass shader. Are you rendering in IRay or 3DL? If IRay, try applying an IRay glass shader to the table and window. If 3DL, look at the opacity settings in the surface pane to make sure it's set to less than 100%, and set raytrace depth to more than 1 in the render settings pane.

Thx for the reply... I am definately rendering / applying all IRay. How do i apply the glass shader. Would you mind explaing which options/settings i need to click on to get there. Will i find all of this under the Render Settings Tab or under the glass option (as per my image) ?

  • Select the object with the glass and the surfaces on the object with glass (using the Surface Selection tool, for example), then in the Presets tab of the Surfaces pane click Shaders>Iray>Glass and double-click the desired option.

  • Holy crap,

To Richard & plarff this is the first time my question has actually been answered in a forum post.

Thanks to both of you for the great post.
