Graphics Card Missing

I really, really wish the Forum Search worked sensibly, it would save me soooooo much time.

Anyway, can someone help me out here? Why does my Graphics card, GTX980 suddenly not appear in the Render Settings window any more, only the CPU is showing?

It was there a couple of days ago, and now it's not. The card is functioning as I use it for gaming all the time.

Am I doing something to make it disappear or switch off? I have re-started the program several times and still no luck.

    Additional to the above, I've just checked the "Preferences/Hardware Details, and the Card is correctly listed there. So it sees it okay, by why doesn't it show or function when rendering?

    Has Windows Update given you a new driver? if so it may not be offering all the needed features, make sure you are using a driver direct from nVidia.

    I wonder why it just disappers like that??

    Did you receive a "Display driver stopped working" error? They pop up and then disappear.
