Is there a way to increase the smooting effect of object polygons higher than it is by default?

Yes. When you select a polygon object, click on the "E" in the column of icons that appears. This brings up the "Edit Mesh" dialog that has smooth and unsmooth buttons for the object. The smooth button has an adjacent "click-hold-and-slide" scale to select the smoothing angle. Once you have selected the desired angle, you must click the smooth button in order for the change to take effect. Then check out of the "Edit Mesh" dialog.
Note that this smoothing is a render effect, not a mesh sub-division. So objects will appear smoothed on areas facing the camera but will still have their original facetted edges / borders / silhouettes.
I use this feature frequently but have noticed some obj's need repeated smoothing.

Sometimes models need more than 90 degree smoothing angles to look good. I've gone quite near 180 in a few situations.
Can you input precise number? for degrees
As i fear to be unable to choose same setting again
