Baggy stockings and immovable hair, woe is me

I have some issues with certain items and i have come to think that maybe it is because i am failing to realise something that i could be doing to solve the issues.
First i have been looking for a long time for a pony tail hair prop that fits my needs. I attach a screen shot of the item i eventually purchased, mainly because i could find nothing closer to my criteria. The description says packed with morphs, but thats hardly accurate because those that are included provide very limited movement. For example, if one imagines V4 lying on her back with her head over the edge of a couch, then there is no way to adjust to position of the tail, which actually makes the thing almost useless. It may be however that there is some way to move the tail that i cannot figure out, if there is a secret to this maybe some kind soul would enlighten me.
I alos have a continuing problem with stockings, not that i wear them, but i have lots of trouble getting them to fit inside shoes. For example the screen shots show how the stockings supplied with Swank pumps and indeed any, when applied to V4 always are too large for the model. This makes them show through shoes, the swank pumps themselves have a fit stocking morph that helps but enlarges the shoe, which is not too noticeable. However if i choose to use other shoes with these or any other stockings, there is show through and no way to get around this except in post work.
If you get foot or toe poke through you can get around this, you are stuck with stocking.
Again, any advice would be appreciated for what is a most annoying problem.
thanks in advance

One thing I've found that sometimes helps with stocking/sock poke through is to set the collision item for the shoes to the stocking/sock instead of the figure. Also, up the number of collision iterations slightly before rendering (I don't do it while still working on the scene as it tends to slow down the refresh of the viewport).
