Help!!! Updated to 4.10 Now it wont even load

So i havent actually been on my Daz in over a year, this has been one crazy year, but i finally got some time and a little better understanding of what it is i want to do and I jumped on the website and saw the new release and loved the genesis 8 characters and was  like hells yeah lets do this. Nope, I didnt look around first, I didnt read any of the read me's, I didnt check to see if there were any bugs or anything i needed to mess with first I just opened my install manager hit download and wham I was a happy little clam. 

 

Until all of a sudden Daz loaded and all my content was gone and I kept getting PostgeSqle errors. Okaaaaay?! Then i looked around tried a bit of fixing, nope that didnt work, looked some more, finally got the postgeSQle file to download, but it wont download in my install manager and it doesnt show up there either. Had to download it manually. Ok. Got it, start up 4.10 again. Yay, Upgrading to CMS, whoo hoo, here we go. Except. It never loads. Ever. Deep Breath Angie. You may not understand alot of this stuff, but youre not stupid, you got this. Uninstall everything, including all my previous stuff, take a deep breath restart your computer and start over. The whole weekend has been like this. I had to get away from it on sunday because i was going to start destroying my computer with a sledge hammer. My old edition is gone bye bye, I have submitted a ticket, but still havent heard anything back. I have no idea whats wrong or how to fix it, after going through all the FAQ's I could find. Please someone, ANYONE help! 

I added a file of the log, but i have no idea what any of it means or how to fix it. If anyone can help me I will appreciate it forever!

    That's an Install Manager log - is it that that isn't loading or DS? What security software are you running?

    That is the installer log. I dont even know what im doing. Im sorry I thought that was what people wanted to see. No the program wont load. It starts to and says upgrading CMS and then never loads. I just have my windows firewall and i made sure all the Daz struff is added to be let through. I havent had any antivirus software for awhile.

    If you were previously on DS 4.8 the covnerting stage can take a while, as 4.9+ use a different  database layout (and need to copy the existing one so that it is still there for older versions). How long did you give it?

    5 hours yesterday, three hours on saturday, and about twenty minutes of frustration at 3am on friday night before i gave up in disgust. Im pretty sure three to five hours is a little much yeah?

    Im running it now. I double checked all my firewalls, and on saturday i deleted everything, old content, everything from Daz and tried to do a complete clean install. That didnt work either. I'll run it again and just let it go I guess, but it seems like there's something wrong.

    it does sound as if something s blocking the process - there have been a few others with similar issues. You can get the DS log from C:/Users/YOU/AppData/Roaming/Daz 3D/Studio4 if it does continue to hang.

    ok.so i may or may not have figured out the problem. Apparantly I was lying about not having antivirus. My compouter came pre loaded with trend micro security, its the only thing i could think could be still causing an issue. So i triued to go in and make an exemption. No dice, the darn thing isnt even working anymore. O.k, turn it off, missing Icudlibrary file, so i cant do that either. Ok, so i'll uninstall the stupid thing, but the program wont allow me to uninstall without the missing file. Fine. I'll go and look up troubleshooting. Find a fixer download, which immediately fails because of the missing file, but i managed to fix that and get it to work. Yay, go me. Restarted the computer and now i am yet again trying to load. It started with the same upgrading CMS screen and now i'm just waiting with my fingers crossed, hoping that this works because i'm about to lose my mind. 4 days of this when i could have been character creating is driving me nuts. I cant afford to hire an artist, and i'm not good enough to body mesh model faces yet. If this doesnt work, I dont know what i'm going to do. :(

    Both, perhaps, since it seems to be hanging on the Content Management Service - though I was thinking of the log.txt file.

    Thanks for your help Richard, I finally figured out the problem and it was a doozy. It wouldnt work because my computer user profile is an Admin profile. Once i figured that out i had to go in and make a completely different standard user profile, set up a new email login in with that, download everything, make sure that my firewall was allowing Daz through and BAM we are back in business. I had no idea that having an admin profile would be such a pain in the butt.

    That shouldn't be an issue - I use an admin account. What can cause issues is explicitly invoking "Run as Administrator" (right-click menu).
