suddenly, my usual floor is just 2 white lines. Ive toggled "show floor" on and off, restarted the program and the computer -no dice.
have I accidentally changed a scale setting or something?

If you zoom back and/or open a new scene, can you see the normal grid? Could you have somehow accidentally scaled your figure very small and you're looking at a tiny piece of the ground where two grid lines intersect?
zooming changes nothing and this is a default figure, no scaling performed.
Yes, it's the same for me. I think this is probably just the new style for DAZ 4.6. If you want a grid on the floor just create a primitive plane.
EDIT: The floor grid reappears in 'Cartoon Shaded' mode.
neeeeeeeeeeeeeeever mind lol
what was the problem? The background color.
Ah, Right ... Mid Grey. Interesting.

Could you please add the word "SLOVED" to the title of your post, it will help, thank you.
I have this issue in 4.12 Beta. Don't know what I did to cause it, don't know how to fix it. Changing to cartoon shaded doesn't help. Shutting off, Etc. As soon as I change back to my workstation setting, it's gone again. Any clues?
Window>Style>Customise Style and chnage the viewport background colour, the last entry on the list.
