Hair FBX export problem

skinwalkerskinwalker Posts: 76

Hey guys,

When I try to export a hair model to FBX, it always looks really bad and cut once I import it. All of that white space is gone once I apply a proper shader in another program and the hair looks really tiny.

Does anyone have any tips how to fix that and export properly as FBX?

Okay, I fixed that by disabling "Merge diffuse into opacity textures", but now I'm getting another issue, which is rounded corners on the end of the hair.

In mobu, you have to add a "lighted" shader (from assets), drag to the hair and select "replace or append" to the hair, set it to "accurate transparency" or "matte" (some hair doesn't look right with accurate, so matte works too), then you have to detach the default shader in the navigator (right click, detach) so that the white disappears

Also, make sure that on fbx export, it merges the diffuse and opacity textures.. and each hair model works a little different

    hope this helps
