DSON in Poser - Where to Install DAZ Stuff?

Installing DSON in my Poser Pro 2014 wasn't too hard.  But I can't figure out where to install the content that came with it.  (And the manual doesn't seem to cover that.)

The GENESIS STARTER ESSENTIALS POSER CF clearly seems like it should go in the Poser Pro 14 runtime.

But where is GENESIS STARTER ESSENTIALS and all the stuff in GENESIS 2 STARTER ESSENTIALS supposed to go?

Am I supposed to create a new DAZ STUDIO runtime folder for it in Documents (that seems sensible, all my other Poser content folders are there) -- or in the Poser Pro 14 folder somewhere, or what?

The DAZ content tree is so different than the Poser one, that I don't want to just drop them in above the runtime in Pro 14 -- and clutter that up.

What are my options?  What's the best solution?

And I guess this same question will apply to the DAZ content for Man Wolf and that ogre guy, and other similar DSON figures.

How's it suppose to work for us Poser users?

Let me know.

Thanks!

  • You can either install them to the Poser Content directory or a separate one that you tell Poser where is. Since I have both Poser and DS installed, that's what I did.

If you have both Poser and Studio installed, just add your DAZ content folder to the Poser Library...

  • Thanks.  So, it looks like either way will do?

DSON will be able to find the stuff in either folder, if I tell Poser where the folder is?  (Either in the native Poser version or a separate DAZ poser folder & runtime.)

    Yes?

Any advantages or disadvantages to either?

  • Got the Man-Wolf to work -- mostly.

But for some reason, his face doesn't seem to map right.  His nose is below where his actual nose is -- so it looks like he's got two.

    Any idea what's going on?

That sounds like the figure is not using the UVs corresponding to that texture.

How did you load the character?

  • I had installed the character in my standard runtime.

And I loaded it from there.

But maybe that was a mistake?  Should I Have put it in a DAZ-only runtime?

That's my best guess right now.  I haven't had time to work on this problem in months.
