Problem with zbrush and daz studio 4.6

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

When i send a figure on zbrush, all works fine, but when i want to export a morph of that figure in daz. Zbrush opened a new windows of daz studio 4.6 and i don't have a update of my figure, it create just a new figure of my figure with no morph. That problem shows only in daz studio 4.6, with 4.5 all works fine.

forgive me, i don't have a good english.

Had you divided the mesh in ZBrush, and not set it back to the base resolution? I haven't had much time for morphing, but I'm pretty sure I've sued the GoZ bridge at least once in 4.6 to create a morph.

I know, but I try with genesis alone, and I just apply a move, and I have the same problem and with no change in subdivision. This problem occurred only since the update 4.6. But i don't know why zbrush, when i push Goz, it opens a new windows of DS4.6.

It may be that there's a path error, though if you isntalled the new version to the same folder as the old that would be odd. Still, you might want to try resetting the path in ZBrush - Preferences>GoZ>Path to DAZ Studio. I just tried and it worked OK for me so I don'tt hink there's a general issue.

    Noone knows why.

My personal guess is that there are conflicting files in the GoZ folders that cause issues.

What is known is that diferent users have different problems with DS, GoZ and Zbrush depending on how they updated and installed zbrush since 4.3, 4.4, 4.5.

I tried to summarize what I read on different forums in this post:

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/22300/#328897

Did you ever make a complete clean reinstallation of your pc?

Or have you never done that for quite a while and have been upgrading zbrush several times on the same machine?

I stopped having any problems after I made a clean installation of windows 8 and used a single zbrush 4.5 installer.

In any way you could try this workflow to do a complete clean reinstallation:

    Steps to prevent the issue

    - Download a single installer for zbrush 4.5
    - Download latest version of DS 4.6.0.18
    - Download the latest version of GoZ for DAZ Studio 1.3.0.8

    - Uninstall DS
    - Uninstall GoZ for DS
    - deactive zbrush
    - Uninstall zbrush
    - manually delete all remaining files in C:\Users\Public\Pixologic
    - use a software like CCleaner to remove unused references and clean the registry (maybe a step that can be skipped)

    - reinstall zbrush
    - activate zbrush
    - reinstall DS
    - reinstall GoZ for DS

The most important step is to manually delete all remaining files in C:\Users\Public\Pixologic before reinstalling anything.

As long as you do not get them out of that directory things will probably not improve.

Cleaning the registry might also have helped but this cannot be confirmed if noone ever reports back if they did that step or not.

linvanchene thank you, you were right, it is an installation problem I did what you said and everything works as before. I had never reinstall zbrush since version 4. I think this is where my problem came. Tank you again , and Richard Haseltine thank you for trying to help me. The topic can be closed

I know this is an old thread but I have had the same problem. Many times I send a figure back to DAZ (from zbrush and it opens a new window and doesn't update the figure

After a lot of trial and error I discover that this only happens if I surf the web (chrome) before starting work with Zbrush/Daz.

What happens is when you send an object from Zbrush to soz vis goz it arrives in DAZ subdivided by one, so DAZ automatically opens a new window and treats it as a new figure. I tried this with a simple cube object and it comes back to daz as a ball!

Anyway if I shut the computer down and restart after a minute or two, then immediately start my work with DAZ/zrush everything works again and I can send figures back and forth no problem.

It has taken a long time to figure this out. Very annoying.

So a conflict must be arising with whatever the web browser is using - flash - javascippt - I have no idea.

If anyone comes on to this thread I hope it helps.
