More complex to shop now at DAZ store

I have been visiting the DAZ store for many years now, and have been a PC member for most of that time.
Nowadays, I find it increasingly more confusing and complicated to shop, especially when there are so many hoops to jump through to get a deal item. I mean, first I have to check what my combinations and permutations of offers are, then the timeframe, then whether I qualify to get the next item and whatever discount etc etc. It's just become a shopper- UNfriendly experience.
I have given up buying those as a result. So far, all I'm doing is collecting the freebies.

Sales for me have been, and will probably always be, a nice bonus. It's great if I can save a little money here and there, but I don't generally go out of my way to buy sale-only items. If you feel the standard prices are too high, that's a different concern, but sales have always been designed to get you to buy items you might not otherwise consider picking up or promote additional sales with its 'buy X, get a discount on Y'.
Whether they need work on their combinations or not is something which is up for debate.
Sadly, the new sales aren't as great, nor are the coupons. Before, coupons here were a simple "save x amount on next purchase" but now they all seem to have rules such as "buy this item to use this coupon" or "coupon only valid on orders over $25" or "buy this along with x amount of other items to use this coupon" and its not cool. I always liked shopping more at daz, and free-use coupons were always an invitation to buy, and I usually would add several thigns to the cart along with the item I chose to use teh coupon on... but when I see restrictions littering the path for every coupon, I can't help but balking, shaking my head, and saying "pass." It's not generating more sales from me. It's making me consider my sales more carefully and more tediously. And the more carefully I think, the more likely I am to think, "well i don't REALLY need A, B, AND C, just to use that coupon...." and put it all back.
Sales I still go for, as long as they aren't the "buy 3 of these to get a discount" but sadly that's happening a lot of the time now too. :(
Well, let me just put it like this: Yeah, I am getting Render Rewards pretty much every month now!
For me it seems that Renderosity and DAZ3D both take the worst marketing strategies from each another. DAZ3d implemented dumb Renderosity coupon system (with "buy $XX to get ") and Renderosity adds quick/flash sales more and more with time.
I will go for the straight forward sales, and there have been a few good ones.
But I truly despise these often repeating "buy 3 of these to get a discount."
String sales are for puppets! :P
No. Thanks. I'll just buy nothing.
But I guess enough people are going for it, to make up for my lack of spending.
More power to all involved and enjoying. :)
I won't lie though. I will be happy when whoever is reading the big, yellow 'Sales Creation for Dummies' book in Utah finally gets to chapter 3 and tries something different.
Actually, I hate the buy this new release in order to get 50% off a category or artist the most. I rarely want the new new release, so no deal.
The new sales aren't helping Daz out as far as I can tell.
My spending is down overall and WAY down at Daz.
The March Madness was a disaster. Anytime you have people pulling out calculators to determine the price of a sale item and no one can agree on what that should be something is horribly wrong.
The buy this new thing to get sale deal at the vendor is a flop too. I haven't bought a single one of them.
You and I may not have been buying but judging from how hard the servers are being hit with every big sale other people are buying.
Are the servers being hit, or is the store just falling over?
easy check is on order numbers.
on 7th May I placed an order which was order number 100812303 and on June 6th I placed an order which was order number 100894998, which means that in that month there were 82,605 new orders. This is without all the downloads of resets and DS4.6 etc.

Interesting, though it's not an indication of how much was bought in each order it does give an estimate. For my part, my personal spending has been down a bit since my birthday is coming up next month so I'm planning a nice little trip to celebrate. I've made few orders though, not least of all being the fancy subsurface shader presets (all of them!) and some cute K4 skins...
Out of interest, wouldn't those orders also include freebies such as Platinum Club items and the like?
With this latest sale, 22 different Artists per day for three days, I put everything from my wishlist into excel, added the PA's name, whether or not it was a new product and tagged those few remaining DO and PC items marked as such (2 PC & 4 DO). That's the kind of crap we have to go through in order to make the best of a sale otherwise it is far too difficult or time consuming.
Wouldn't it be so nice if the PA name was included in the wishlist. I tried adding it in the extremely large box that is so useless, but it would not save the info when I updated my wishlist. Plus you lose it if you put the item in your cart, then change your mind and toss it back into the wishlist, that is, when it did work saving info in the way too big box that DAZ feels we need. (I have saved info in the over-sized box before, so I do know how to use it, it's just not very useful nor working correctly, for me anyway)
