Does anyone know What is going on with this Item

ok I have Josh Crockett's Greylien, I did a render yesterday with it, turned out wonderfull. To day I loaded it again looking to add some stuff to it and this is what it looks like. This is in preview mode, when i do a quick render this mess seems to vanish. So I anyone has any idea let me know thanks. Also When I attempt to move it the only thing that moves is the bounding box

Have you tried restarting? It sounds like some kind of OpenGL/video glitch.

I thought of that too, so i restarted it and reloaded and still same thing.... It has me baffeled. So I even restarted the entire scene again with just the grey in it and it does not do the same thing. so it could be the lights or the black background...but something has anchored the mesh to the starting point, I am at a loss
