Clothing refitter

Would love a tool or script that would convert older clothing to the current generation and save it in a new directory. I realize I can do this myself manually but there is a fair amount of time involved in opening each thing converting it and saving it and it would seem something a script can do.

Crossdresser 4 by Evilinnocence converts clothing to Genesis. you can then use Daz Studio to take it further. Its free, but you'll have to buy a license for Genesis. About $10.

Yeah... I  don’t want to convert stuff myself or in stages I can do that already.

Yes, it would be nice for a script to open V4/M4 and Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 & Genesis 3 & Genesis 8 and then a list of clothing you wanted converted by dragging & dropping the product presets for the items into a DAZ Studio UI designed just to created a duf that was a list of clothing presets and then fit them one by one on each generation, saved as wearable present until the list was finished. It would still take a long time to run the script though.

I wonder if Sickle Yield's re-rigging and clothing transfer tutorial could be automated with DAZ Script?

Exactly. All I want to do is  to start the thing select a Genesis 3 clothing  directory and let it do its thing.  I can open each item and resave it but it takes time and that is the crucial element I don’t have. Plus this way there is consistency. I dislike doing repetitive tasks.

I've been asking for this a month ago https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/227316/a-script-that-converts-clothes-to-other-figures#latest

but the vendors seem to have enough money and don't want mine >(. I think everyone would buy this and they would make a lot of money.

I'm not certain it's scriptable, or can be done with a plugin. Maybe going from G3 to G8 and in reverse (since those two are pretty similar) but not any of the others because of all the input Autofit asks for.

If it helps, the fastest and easiest way I’ve found to put G3 clothes on G8 is to select my figure, then Edit-Scene Identification and change the figure’s compatibility base from G3F to G8F or G3M to G8M or vice versa. Then you can load up full wearables presets without the time consuming auto-fit windows for each item of clothing. You can’t save them as wearables as with Sickleyield’s method, and you’ll need to switch the compatibility back to default if you later want to fit native items, but it is the quickest way on the fly that I’ve found for G3M/G8M and G3M/G8M.

A quickie script to change the compatibility base would speed up the process even more, if somebody savvy with scripting would write one :)

That might be doable to convert a coherent set of items in each batch (ie you convert them all from figure 1 to figure 2 and will use the same projection template for all), with something along the lines of DraagonStorm's batch converter for V4 presets to G2F.

Interesting. I would be happy with at least doing G3 to G8 for now. I have a ton of G3 outfits.

What I found doing the SY method is I was following old directions and did the legs and shoes improperly. They looked okay in the screen but not so much when fiting them. . Redoing it all at the proper angle is.... more than I want to undertake.

It’s a quick way, as you don’t need to pose the character. They can already be posed how you like. In my limited testing, most clothing fits very well, though some tight fitting outfits might need smoothing on the arm/thigh area.
