Wet Clothing ?

Hi everyone
Is there a way to make whatever clothing I choose for my characters look wet?
I’m looking to create a series of pictures where the character gets a little wet in one spot but then proceeds to get wet through due to being in the rain?
Ive had a look at the store but struggling to make sense of the different products or what I need.
Any tips tricks and pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Patience, patience.
There are two issues, as I see it. First, some clothes change color when wet, and others get translucent when wet. (Classic “wet T-shirt.) Transluscency can be achieved by dialing down the opacity on the clothing’s surfaces. A change in color (darkening, typically) can be done by altering the base color on the surface
More difficult is clothing that changes shape when wet - wrinkles, or draping down differently. On one of the other threads, someone said that it increases the clothing’s friction and density. If the piece is configured for dForce, you could probably achieve that by altering the dForce parameters. For conforming clothing, this is going to be more difficult, although some of the effects might be achieved using D-formers.
But, at the end of the day, the question is “how does the particular piece you have in mind look different wet as opposed to dry?” Until you can define that, you can’t figure out how to achieve the effect, since wetness affects different material in different ways - there’s no single global answer.

Another trick to use (at least for the classic "wet T-shirt" and similar clothes that get more translucent the wetter they get, is to use transparency maps.
As to the "Wet-Clinging" shape effect, the suggestion I've seen (though not used, since I had no use for it) is to scale conforming clothing to a fraction smaller than the figures wearing them, then apply a Smoothing Modifier to them to force them out to the skin. I'm sure they'll wrinkle, if not in all of the right places, and will hug the limbs/torsos tightly enough.
