Which files to load?

After getting items from the store, I notice there are 3 files. The main file, the Poser file, and the Legacy file. Which ones do I actually need? To clarify, I want to make sure I'm accessing everything I bought without loading extra or "duplicate" files (like main and Legacy).

Thanks,
Stefan

It depends on what kinds of item.
Some items, older ones, have a base Poser file, and a DS file with DS material settings.
Some files have A Poser File, a DS 4.5+ file and a legacy DS 4.0 file

So, depending on what you are installing and what software you are using the answer will be different.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using DS 4.6. Based on your answer, it sounds like I do not need to use the Legacy file, but probably the other 2.

Yupp, unless its a genesis item, then you only need the DS install, as the Poser thing is to get the Genesis stuff in Poser (much like the old DS MAT files were to make Poser items to work in DS.

Sooo ... the Legacy files are for older versions of DS?

Legacy is for older versions of DS (usually 3 and 4.0 for non-Genesis items, 4.0 for Genesis items).

If the DS version just says "DS" it is stand-alone and doesn't need the Poser version; if it says "StudioCF" then you need the Poser version also.

If you use DIM, just set the download filter to only DS4.5+ and it will only show the versions you need.

Ah, cool. Thanks. My Heavy Hitter is DS3A with DS2.3 lurking for some reason I've not yet fathomed. Using DIM, I need to filter out DS4.5+ to accomplish this. It's not that I don't have DS4.5 (soon to be 4.6) but rather that it's not my primary tool.

What about the Resource Files on some of the items?

What about the Resource Files on some of the items?

Those get installed to the resources folder in the DS application folder.

So if you have DS, they are needed?

ISTR that they are images for the Puppeteer presets.
