Upgrading CMS

After several years away, and a new computer, I reinstalled DAZ Studio. Using thee Install Manager and added just a few items. Then I started to open Studio. It started to open only to have it tell me that it's "Upgrading CMS" and there it sits. It's been doing this since 7am and it's still sitting there!!!! Now what do I do????

If you were using 4.8 or earlier previously it can take a while, especially if you had a lot of content installed - I don't know how long it has taken so far as I don't know which time zone you are in.
That's the problem, I had 4.5 installed, but only had the bare Dream House rooms installed. It's a new computer so I'm starting out from scratch. It sat for 11 hours like this. Now what do I do? Uninstall everything?
What security software are you using?
Did you bring over a back up of the old content database?
Did you run Daz Studio or Install Manager "as administrator", which can cause problems (running normally from an adminsitrator account is OK, it's the right-click>Run as Administrator that can cause issues).
Richard:
1) AVG
2) Nope everything was totally new downloads
3) Nope, it installed just fine without needing to use Administrator run (right-click)
This definitely has me puzzled!
Try disconnecting from the net, turning AVG off, and restarting DS - does it open then?
Richard,
I even went so far as to uninstall all the content that I had installed that didn't come with Studio. Still hangs up and won't open.
This is getting so frustrating!!!!
If it's a communication issue then uninstalling content won't help. I take it you did try disabling AVG and that too didn't help?
I'm having a very similar issue but I've just installed it for the first time from scratch. I don't have AVG and I don't have any previous thing for it to upgrade, but it never gets past the initial splash screen and "Upgrading CMS..."
Any ideas?
same here it keeps telling me its upgrading the CMS. Does anyone know how to fix this?
What are your system specifications? What security software do you use?
