nothing ruins your night when you realize it is actually 9pm instead of 7pm. That happened to me last night. I thought I had about two hours to play on the computer but actually I had less than an hour.

I keep hearing that time flies when you're having fun. I always have to reply that it does even if you're not having fun. But actually, time does nothing, it is we who move through it. Now, it would be nice if we could consciously move in the direction we want, or just stop moving now and then.

Is very very much loving the Light Layers Indigo has. ^_^
Being able to enable or disable them at will, change their color and intensity while rendering (And after rendering!), and so on... So much fun and is useful!

Also shown is a dinosaur model I am in the process of rigging :3
    I'm making progress!

When someone brings up the subject of Time Travel™, asking me if I think it will be possible someday, I tell them we already have time travel; we travel in one direction - forward - at the rate of 1 second per second. : )
Is fun to contemplate time machines, though.

Well YEAH. And didn't leave his gift baskets into my hands! He might have been in the city, though. Who knows?

Hey Wooly, do you ever have dreams of a vaguely Mediterranean city with terraced looks, with a canal that has water flowing uphill going around and through it, and with bridges and small stores, and a lot of buildings are built with reddish or grey stone with light brown accents? Like a REALLY detailed and insanely expensive Stonemason set?

Not that I recall, and I recall I'd guess about 80% of my dreams.

There is a place I go to sometimes.. a castle of white stone with tall towers of what appears to be crystal..there is a pool there, in which one can see visions. It's one of those hyper-real dreams that makes the waking world seem like a dull, drab imitation. Sometimes I see it from far away, while walking through a field of white flowers (look like some kind of iris). I also visit a place that is a row of apartments in a garden, the trees greener than green the sky olke an azure marble and the flowers brighter than the Sun. Both amazing places and I love when I get to go. But it's pretty rare.

Mostly I get the Giger-esque landscape with the melting demons, or something so mundane and stupid that I wake up wondering what the point of it was. Meh.
When I was little I dreamed there was a secret passage through a cabinet in our kitchen that led to a cave with every book I ever wanted to read inside (not scary). I used to have that recurring dream from the time I was eight until I was about 25. The dreams stopped after the last one, in which I was too large to fit through the passage. Oddly the dreams began long before I ever read the Alice books (I read them for the first time at 15) and I still haven't read the Narnia books, or seen any of the films.

ETA: I should mention all of the books in the cave were imaginary titles, comic books in series I have read, but issues I never knew about in real life, some hardback and paperback books, too.
There was a friendly old man in the cave, who was keeper of the books. They were stacked on tables, no bookcases were there. I can still see it and him in my mind's eye. I should work up a render someday. : )

Damn, it's tough it when a story becomes bigger than reality and takes over your life. Leela has almost become a daughter to me.

Apologies from an old kid who finds themself moved by a little girl who never really existed.

A part of my world ended when Jaderail Died. Yes in the end of my 8 years of struggles he died in the end. Many others lived but I lost him when it was all said and done. I understand your closeness.

DanaStarting to feel better so I went back and caught this one.

DanaTA I understand how KK feels about his character that he has invested so much time into. I'm sure KK has had Leela in his head running around and becoming as real as anyone because of all the detail that he has filled in to make her walk and talk and live in the world she lives in. I spent 8 or more years playing AD&D as Jaderail, I created him when the Unearthed Arcana Handbook was published and Drow were allowed as Player Characters. I never expected the character to last more than one campaign but luck and the dice were on my side. I soon did everything I could to improve Jade and advance him. Not only did it work but he seemed to fit the troop and became a valuable asset. As Jaderail grew in power and skill he was fleshed out and it got to the point that I could think as Jade during the games, I understood his motives, actions and goals because they were mine as mirrored in his world as him. Anyone who has spent years thinking, feeling and hoping the best for a fictional character will develop a deep attachment to them. Jade and I became more than a Character in a game and a player of the game, we became a part of each other. I'm not a split personality but I can still be Jade just as easy as I can be Me.

Good point! was using Gemologica Tigers Eye and the displacement wasn't to my liking, but I think I need to find out how to put a procedural displacement into a shader.. argh.

Maybe I should give this all up and stick to text. (ugh face)

I can have a great career doing Poser Porn... (blank face)

But.. but.. that would require me actually knowng what I was doing! (gasp face)

    And we can't have that....!

If we knew what we were doing we probably wouldn't do it any more (apollolologies to A Einstien)
