Crashing issues since i update to 4.10

Hello,

I haven't touch to Daz3d since september / october, i did the update from 4.9.x (don't remember the number) to the actual update.

But now whenever i launch Daz3d it crashes as soon as it opens. I searched what was causing the crashes. And what causing it is Daz3d who now uses 100% of my CPU and GPU, and the temperature increase quite quickly, in like 30sec i went from 34°C to 70°C (93,2°F to 140°F) just by launching Daz3d.

Prior to the update i had no problem at all when using Daz3D.

How can i solve this problem ? can i go back to the previous update (which was working fine) ?

Here is my computer settings:

i5 6600K 3.5GHZ

16 Gb RAM

GTX 1070 8gb

(Oh and obviously i don't have any problem of overheating with my computer other than daz3d)

Thank you.

Were you using the iray preview mode last? Are you just opening daz studio on its own or are you loading a scene?

  • Daz3D Crash as soon as it opens. I don't have time to do or click on anything.  Basically, i launch Daz3D, and then on the menu everything is frozen until the message "Daz3D have stop responding" appear, then it closes.

    Hi again.

I still haven't solve this poblem. I moved Daz3D from my 250Gb SSD to my 1To HDD, uninstalled  completely Daz3D from my computer and then re-dl it from the official website (of course) and cleaned the little bit of dust who was in my computer. Nothing had worked.

To explain again what is my problem, when i launch Daz3D it open normally but after a few seconds (30 sec max) it stop responding and i have no choice but to close Daz. I, of course, tried to wait (15 min) to see if Daz goes back to normal, but no.

Now i have no clue of how i can solve this. And i really want to give Daz a try to see what i'm capable of.

So i really need your help.

Thanks. (and sorry if i made mistakes, i'm not a native english speaker)

I'm not sure how you can chnage the preview mode with DS closed, but I think that may be what you need to do. It's probably time to open a support ticket, sorry.

Maybe there is a config file somewhere that can be edited?

  • Ok

I might have figured it out. And needless to say that as always, more the problem seems to be impossible, more the solution is simple.

I was thinking about i have changed in my computer since the last time i used Daz3D, and there was one small change that i did since then. i have set the non-unicode language to japanese in my computer to play a japanese game a few months ago and forgot to change it back to normal after completing it.

And it seems it was just that who was causing Daz3D to crash. Well ... i'm not 100% sure, i just did quickly the interactive tutorial and everything seemed to work fine. It's almost 9pm where i live i don't have the time to test if it's really solved, i will look more in depth tomorrow.

Conclusion : don't the the non-unicode language to japanese before using Daz3D :D
