Metadata question

I am in the process of adding Metadata to my old DAZ content along with the content that I am now creating for myself. But I have a few questions :

BTW: I know how to create a new Root Compatibility Database and how to use the Content DB Editor to assign the Asset’s Type and Categories (pict 1). I also know how to add my content to the Content Library tab’s Products folder location (by right-clicking on the content's folder name, and then choose: “Create a Product from” option).

1) Am I adding content metadata correctly? Because all of my content is listed as Local User in the Content DB Editor (and in the Support folder) (see pict 2). Is all content that is NOT gotten from DAZ supposed to be listed as LOCAL USER?

2) One thing that really irritates me is: I get everything categorized properly, but when I look for it in the Smart Content’s folders or the Content Libraries’ Categories/Default folders, two thumbnails always show up. One will be correctly tagged as, e.g. Wardrobe, whereas the second isn’t. Both add the item to my scene, but the second one is redundant. I am including a screenshot for the Overshirt for the “Stylin for M4” (that I added metadata to) as an example (pict 3).

    1) you can create nwe stoes if you want to assign products to renderosity or whatever - you can even set them up so that the More Information option will open the store page or readme (as long as the URL is uniform with the addition of a name or SKU across the store).

    2) I'm not sure about, if there is only the one file with that name - they are not a version in the DS native files and a version from the PoserCF for use with the DSON Importer?.

    Thanks for replying Richard

    1) How do you set it up as different store? When I tell it to “Create a product from”, it automatically makes the Store: Local user.

    2) I looked and they both are cr2’s (see the attached pict if the one I inserted here doesn’t show up - I am new to posting in this forum and am still figuring out how to use it).

BTW: The Stylin for M4’s File List has this listed for the Overshirt:

    \Runtime\Geometries\StylinM4\Overshirt.obj

    \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Stylin M4\Blue Flames Overshirt.ds

    \Runtime\Libraries\Character\Stylin M4\Overshirt.cr2

    \Runtime\Libraries\Character\Stylin M4\Overshirt.png

    \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Stylin M4\Blue Flames Overshirt.png

    \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Stylin M4\Blue Flames Overshirt.pz2

    \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Stylin M4\Red Flames Overshirt.ds

    \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Stylin M4\Red Flames Overshirt.png

    \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Stylin M4\Red Flames Overshirt.pz2

I am not knowledgeable on file formats. From these items, should there be two thumbnails shown in the Categories/Default/Wardrobe/Outerware/Tops? FYI: I don’t see the: “Blue Flames Overshirt.ds” listed in the Content DB Editor. Also, only the cr2 Overshirt is tagged as Wardrobe and (except the object and picts) all the other’s Type: is set to Materials in the Content DB editor (refer back to the original pict 1).

So if a product has both DAZ & Poser versions, is there any way to have only the DAZ format one show up in the categories? Otherwise when I finish adding metadata to all of my old DAZ products, not to mention all of my 3rd party products, all of the category folders will be filled with duplicates.

BTW: I next added a 3rd party car (that was saved as a Scene subset) and it only showed up once in the Smart Content/Transportation/Land folder. So I guess not everything shows duplicate thumbnails.

    Thanks for your help

Update: If I wasn’t clear: There is only one (blue) overshirt (the red is just a texture). I am therefore getting two duplicate blue overshirt thumbnails.

Also: I just noticed that my inserted pict doesn't' show. How do forum members insert their picts so they show nice and big within the text?
