DAZ crash with LAMH

I suspect it's the new computer as i never used to have a problem ... whenever I load a LAMH preset (either via the LAMH dialog) or as part of a figure load (RawArts new LAMH-enabled Tauran or Manwolf) Daz Studio either hangs or crashes:

DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\lamhPlugin.64.dll" at 0033:000000000DB62EAB, DzLine3::operator=()+856219 byte(s)

If I load a preset (such as the ones for DAZ Horse 2) via LAMH itself then LAMH and DS hang (AppHangB1).

Using LAMH without using presets seems to work without problem.

Using DS 4.6.0.18 Pro, 64-bit.

And you have updated all of the Drivers for your Motherboard...?
    Especially the video Card...?

I think there is a pending update for the graphics card, but all else are up to date so far as i am aware. I have been fighting shy of the driver update, but will give it a try and see what happens.

Updated the graphics driver, same thing - crash loading LAMH-based figures. Hopefully the upcoming update to LAMH will fix it.

I have always got frequent crashes with LAMH. Save early and often. But it can be a pain, since just loading up the plugin takes a while. Then you have to load the preset. Recheck your settings.

    Hi @keiron,

I had the same issue but once I updated to the most current release candidate, the crashing resolved. See this thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/35011/

On another note, the developers Alessandro and Kendall are awesome with support for their products. They are really active in the forums or you can email Alessandro directly at info at alessandromastronardi.com (replace "at" with the @ symbol) or go to their website http://furrythings.com.

    Hi stormlyght

Thank you for your help much appreciated

Alessandro helped me get things working OK

I had uninstalled LAMH and used the DAZ Download Manager to reinstall, but it installed version 1

I added the mods and all is well

Daz needs to ensure the download is updated

I've attached a couple of renders

    Kindest wishes

    Keiron

    Hi Keiron,

You're welcome. Glad you got it working!

Thank you for sharing your renders. Love the polar bears, particularly your last render!

Had a similar problem, caused by me putting the LAMH hair in a group, solution detailed from Alessandro

actually yes, grouping/parenting LAMH items is a limitation that we won't be able to fix until DAZ makes some fixes in the SDK. So better to avoid doing it.

Now, you can recover the scene doing like this:

    - disable the LAMH plugin
    - restart Studio and open the scene, which now should load (even if the LAMH fur will be lost)
    - resave the scene
    - enable the LAMH plugin and restart studio
    - now, load the scene and reapply the fur on the Wolf (or, better yet, just load a LAMH Wolf and use the pose of the 'naked' one)

    I hope this helps!

That's probably a better way of getting round such issues that I had been usig (uncmporessing the .duf scene file and excisign all mentions of LAMH ..), so thank you!
