Genesis 8 Scale dial not working for Morphs

acharyapolinaacharyapolina Posts: 726

Hi, I am working on exporting my Scifi Suit for Genesis 8 Female, for Victoria 8. However I understand that I need to 0 out the figures scale if the figure scales when morphing to get a perfect clothing morph fit, otherwise the clothing will be too big or small to the character when using morph loader pro.

Attached are 2 images showing my Scifi Suit for Genesis 8, morphed for Victoria 8, but when I go to dial back the scale setting it is already set at 100%, it should read like 97% or something because there is scalling done by the Victoria Morph on Genesis 8 female, but it does not show.

Does anyone know where to find it? or do I have to figure out the scale by trial and error. :)

Any help would be greatly apriciated. thanks so much.

If the morph itself is shrinking the figure then that is to be added to your morph - it's only if there are transforms (usually scale and perhaps translation) triggerd by the morph slider that you should set their values back to "zero" (100% for scale) so that they don't get doubled-up when the shape is applied.

  • I understand that, However you can clearly see that Gen8 scales up, but the numbers on the sliders dont change. they are still set to 100% and I tryed to fit my character clothing to victoria 8 as a morph from moreph loader pro and I get a double up effect. So I tryed to find the setting to 0 out and there is none. :)

Do they show up in the regular content library pane?  They might be under Poser formats (I'm not at my render machine at the moment).

Also, did you install the Base and Morphs using DIM?  If not, they will need to be initialized before using them; in Library > Runtime > Libraries > !DAZ > run the appropriate DzCreateExPFiles.bat (or.command files if you are on a Mac)

Genesis figures are not Poser format and do not need initializing.

  • I installed Gen8 using DIM. and it is in the content library. Should I uninstall and then re install daz? maybe daz 4.11 would do something? I'm using 4.10 right now

Re-installing (almost) never fixes content problems.  Victoria 8's scale is 100% because she was not scaled down, her actual morph was created shorter (which is something I wish creators would not do).

Getting bigger doesn't mean scaling is applied - if the mesh was scaled in the modeller and that was imported into DS in the OBJ then the scaling is part of the morph, not an extra parameter applied when the morph is dialed in. If the scaling is part of the morph then it should not be cancelled when creating a clothing morph.

Well, first please make sure you are in Smooth Shaded preview if you are going to show a nude figure.

Yo set the Victoria 8 slider, not Victoria 8 Body. Victoria 8 isn't actuall a morph, it's a controller that drives other morphs, so when you load your morph it gives the suit a shape that comes in for the Victoria 8 slider and but since there isn't a shape for Victoria 8 Body DS geenrates one to match the shape on the base figure and you get a dible effect. Rename your OBJ FBMVictoria8.obj, load that through Morph Load Pro, and you should be OK.

  • Still does not work. I have tried all the other morphs that I have, that come with Gen 8, Penny 8, Teen Kaylee 8, Aiko 8, Karyssa 8, Mika 8, Monique 8, Charlotte 8 and all work perfectly with the suit and all of them have the dial change, as you can see in the image below. But Victoria does not. So maybe I just have a bad copy of Victoria or something because I cant get her to fit her clothing morph right.

Richard Haseltine, I did what you said to do but still the same result.

So you don't have a Victoria 8 morph in the suit now, just the Victoria 8 Body?

HI, so I still have the same problum with many of the character morphs from Gen 8. the only characters I dont have a problum with are the ones that dont change size.

Here is another video, in Smooth Shaded preview , showing me trying to fit some clothing to Victoria 8 and Alexandra 8 character morphs. The same thing happends, the body suit gets too big or too small on my characters, but only when autofitted. otherwise it is a perfect fit.

I do apologise for asking for more help on this subject as it is driving me crazy not knowing why or how to get it to work properly. I have looked everywhere to find more information on how others fit clothing to Gen 8 character morphs and cant find any information on it. so I'm back to the forums.

Any help is very much apriciated. Thank you all.

Edit my previous statement above. ""Penny 8, Teen Kaylee 8, Aiko 8, Karyssa 8, Mika 8, Monique 8, Charlotte 8 and all work perfectly with the suit and all of them have the dial change,"" Is not correct. I found out that none of them work correctly except the ones that dont change the size of the body.

  • Hi..... please you have to excuse my syntax because I am totally deaf and speak American Sign Langauge...it's not exactly like English grammar.

Okay...I'm trying my best...so I hope you can understand what I mean about this problem with Genesis 8 male with Hair Set for G8M.....morph is not enough because

I made G8M huge massive muscular body....so I put hair set on his body....but thighs and shins problem.   Some spots don't show hair.   I sent this pics here below

show you.  How can I contace with Deepsea?   Deepsea who created this Hair Set for G8M.  Because I want to ask him or her to fix it....so I can get Hair Set.  Here pics here

below.....   some spots on calf with no hair....and on upper leg...no hair on side.  Can you see them?

  • So I figured out part of my problum, Victoria 8 and Alexandra 8 character morphs still do not work for me, However many of the others like, Aiko 8, Karyssa 8, Monique 8, Charlotte 8 now work because I figured out that I was exporting them incorectly. When I export I needed to use, (Use exsisting groups) for the export to work correctly. Insted I was chosing Use Figure names and it was not working.

So anyways, I am slowly figuring it out. :)
