It's pretty amazing that this stupid bug still hasn't been fixed after all these years and who knows how many builds, but at this point I'd say it's clear that no one at DAZ thinks it's an issue worth the time and trouble of fixing.

Since so many (including myself) have the problem it must be possible for them to find a PC that also has it, and then try to track it down there.  Or they could make a survey where people having the problem could report their hardware/software/driver specs, that might give a clue about what is causing it.

It's perfectly possible, but, like the fact that no one has updated most of the documentation for studio since version DS 3.0, that even more of the product documentation has simply disappeared into limbo, and that the store is so full of bugs that there's an entire episode of Planet Earth devoted to it, it's one of those DAZ issues that I no longer really expect to ever get fixed.

When my hands are flying around the keyboard, and frantically clicking on things, while running 3 applications, and doing a render, and surfing the Internet, and listening to Spotify, the mouse disappears or the computer (the new MacBook Pro) freezes because I'm asking it to do too many things simultaneously.

But I also know for a fact that with Poser, even when my computer was doing nothing else, the pointer/cursor would disappear.  It was a bug, that Poser wouldn't fix - which is why I gave up Poser altogether.  Each time it would happen, I would either have to shut Poser, and then reopen the program - or, if I started a render, then after a few seconds, aborted it, the pointer/cursor would reappear.  I noticed it would often happen when I moved the mouse swiftly.

I think I might have figured out how to solve this...  If your cursor disappears, hover over the view cube (the thing with "front, left, right, etc") and click both mouse buttons at the same time.

Has worked for me in getting the cursor to reappear...

    you are the man :)

i figured out that random clicking around will fix it but never found the right spot

Hi all, I know the answers already been given here and elsewhere but because it keeps coming up, and to cement it in my own mind, I've attached a screenshot to hopefully help someone else out.  Sure wish they'd fix it tho!  :)

    Apparently something has been done with it, check the change log;

    • Fixed #DS-242/#CS-155800, #DS-1765/#CS-291149/#CS-303353/#CS-312519 - An issue where the cursor becomes invisible within a viewport if a mouse button other than the one used to initiate a view control operation is clicked while the initiating mouse button is still pressed; the operation is still interrupted, but now the hidden cursor is restored

The latest Public Build (beta) - 4.15.1.72 - has a fix for this http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#4_15_1_63

My comments above were posted long before I found the trick to bringing the mouse cursor back without having to quit DAZ Studio - i.e. blindly move the mouse until it highlights the camera view dropdown in the viewport and click on that.

The reason for the problem is certainly accidentally clicking both mouse buttons at the same time and, after a few attempts, it is easy to replicate. Good to see that there is finally a fix. I was expecting that it might be fixed in DS5.

    PROBLEM:
As Valiant_01 indicated, the problem is reproducible:   I'm running Daz Studio 4.12 on a Windows 10 system.  To make the mouse cursor disappear:  IF I hold down both the left and right mouse buttons at the same time (easy to do accidentally), while using the magnifying glass (or other movement buttons) in the main viewport, the cursor will disappear.

    EASY WORKAROUND:
As iSeeThis noted, sometimes you can restore the pointer by selecting a highlighted button (such as the arrow button) at the top of the screen.  However, I've found that this usually does NOT work on my system.    For me, a much more reliable solution is to move the invisible cursor into the Aux Viewport. (The cursor highlights things as it passes over them.)   With the pulldown camera menu highlighted, change or reselect a camera.  The embedded code resets the mouse cursor.   Once in a while you need to select a different camera.

(In case it is relevant, note that I always create a camera when I start a scene, and use that camera, so that Daz will save my camera view when I save the scene.)

Thanks for this tip Electricventures. It worked a treat for me. Saves having to save the scene then reload DAZ.

Or you can change to perspective mode and click on the arrow up in the viewport (the arrow in a circle.) resets the mouse.
